Hunger Mod!

Post » Wed Jan 12, 2011 1:36 pm

I've tried a couple of hunger mods for my game, and found that none of them works for me. The last one was Real Hunger (latest version), a very promising mod (with sounds when you get hungry etc...), but it has been a disaster: *nothing*, and I said nothing, worked except for the damage done to my attributes. Even a console command that was supposed to repair the stats didn't have effect. Many comments on tesnexus report the same issues as mine.

I'm searching for an hunger mod that works well... there is any? Are you guys aware of such a mod?

Try Vim ad Vigor Advanced http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15773. I've been using it for a while now. It totally overhauls the fatigue system of oblivion, now your fatigue bar lasts the whole day and doesn't descend so quickly, but when it does you must eat/sleep etc. xx

My personal favourite is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20850. It's good and customizable.

I've been using http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27109. It doesn't have all the features of some of the other hunger mods, but sometimes simple is better.

That Vim and Vigor mod sounds interesting. I've been using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24079 and have generally been satisfied with it for about 100 hours of play.

However I recently installed Thieve's Arsenal and they seem to conflict and cause CTDs.

I downloaded and checked out Realistic Fatigue + Simple Essentials. I also DLed and installed Cobl and Vim & Vigor.

I think for now I'm just going to drop Thieves Arsenal and Toggleable Quanitty Prompt (the two I think were fighting with my orirginal configuration) and just keep playing with the same set that I have been for weeks

TES4Edit tells me there are no conflicts in that set, and it does pretty much everything I want. May try adding TQP back in in a few days once I see for sure that this set is stable.

If you're going to use Harvest Flora, you may as well get Harvest Containers as well. It does the same sort of thing as Flora, only with containers.

Yeah, I tried it. Not sure if it was one of the optional functions, but it caused major slowing and stutttery in the Market District, I suspect as a result of all those containers in the courtyards in front of the merchants. Turned it off.

Thanks, game mates! I finally choose Natural Hunger by QF since I already have a sleep and thirst mod. NH is working well until now... as a personal "touch" I added sounds by editing the scripts (it's quite easy).

I've gone back to using Tyler's Hungry, Thirsty, Sleepy, Tired and despite it showing two entries of conflict in TES4Edit, it seems to be behaving with the rest of my mods now.

I must've played 10 to 20 hours with this semi-final load order

I think I've tested this configuration enough and will install Map Marker Overhaul to see how it behaves with it.

I guess my main sources of CTDs previously were Alchemy Advanced, and/or Thieves Arsenal, and/or simply using the Shift- transfer all function in TQP far too rapidly.

Map Marker Overhaul shouldn't conflict with your configuration for no reason. I use that mod and I think it should conflict only with other map/map icons mod.
