Artifacts (blades, armor, amulets, staves, rings...)

Post » Tue Jan 18, 2011 10:43 am

If I'd have to guess I'd say that the axe of dagon is one of the greater deadric artifacts that sheogorath speaks of. One of the artifacts that no mortal besides the champion of cyridill has handled. So the axe of dagon would be like the staff of sheogorath.

But this brings up a very interesting question what are the other great artifacts of the deadric princes. I think we can assume that each prince has one greater artifact.
I'd be willing to bet for azura that it would be the moon that she carrys in he other hand or could that be a different artifact or one at all?

I already chose Boethiah's axe to use. Check my fan fic in the signature. The axe appears at the beginning of chapter 3.

these are two... the first isn't daedric.. the second is probably of Namira or Nocturnal but didn't appeared in the game for a unknown reason...

Axes aren't as powerful and awesome-looking as they appear to be in other RPG series. Shame, really.

The best stuff tends to be swords, because they're pretty :banghead:

I want some nasty axes make an emergence to being great. As with most RPGs, and beth is quite guilty of this, swords are pretty much the only weapons to bring along, since all others tend to svck, or are not as good as the sword. Maces will occasionally rise to the level of swords, but not too often.

Axes aren't as powerful and awesome-looking as they appear to be in real life. Shame, really.

Fixed that for you. :)

Actually, most weapons - real weapons - aren't really cool to look at. Axes, swords, spears.... kind of boring. They have a utilitarian aesthetic, but not lots of spikes, curves, gems, and pretty doo-dads.

Fantasy weapons, on the other hand, don't have to be worried about practicality and can focus on looking awesome.

EDIT: ...right, so maybe I didn't actually fix anything...

Still, it is inexcusable how Beth has neglected spears, bows, and axes! :swear:

since we're talking about MD's axe anyway i was wondering what he would even use that for i mean at his size it would be easier to just stomp on things, i think it would be hard hitting somebody with the thin edge of that axe. Now a hammer is a completely different story...

I did find Hiricine's spear quite useful, but everything else was pretty bad. Axes are completely neglected, it's quite annoying since I REALLY love being axe wielding warriors, or wanting to be like that Morag Tong member who exclusively used axes to assassinate his targets.

I don't really like bows, but they could use some love too. Turning an enemy into a porcupine in OB was just...bad

True, but an axe still evokes more than a hammer--an lo, we have Volendrung. No, someone just needs to convince Mehrunes to share that big axe he's always carrying around. Selfish bastard.

I agree, My Argonian Barbarian would bring a ton of ''Destruction'' if he would only share that battleaxe of his :(.

Oh, wow, aren't you observant? Did you have anything to contribute, or are you just trying to get your post count up?

Now, if you don't mind, I think the rest of us will utilize this already-made thread and continue the discussion in a civilized manner.

Back on topic, can someone give me more information on this Hortator Axe?

Oh, and Staves. I'd like some half-decent caster weapons that don't look like elongated sticks/canes/tire irons, even if that's what most of them are in reality.

I dunno, some celtic and saxon blades looked quite cool, if not very ornate, you're right, pointy bits of crap are fantasy inventions.

See this one, the blade patterns are typical:

Damasked steel - what civilization and time period? I don't think they had that technique in Western Europe until historically recently...

This discussion will have no civilized manners, you impudent [overtaken by turettes]! Look in Vivec's 36 lessons, the ones with Magnus and Moon crater killing.
