just wondering if there's any known mod / plug in out there that makes it so when creating spells if you make a destructive spell on self you can alsohave an AoE effect on it, currently if I were to do such a thing the only options available to me would be magnitude and duration

There are some pretty major reasons this hasn't been done yet. With a few of the tools released recently (like, the last month or two, some still in beta) and some very clever scripting, it might be possible now... but it would definitely be a challenge.
