How exactly do you fight... a dragon in full flight

I'm thinking poison of burden might do the trick!

Apparently you just slash them when they swoop down land. Maybe they can't fly for long distances.

Arrows and Magic can handle them just fine when they're in the air.

You wait for it to come to you.

Like cliff racers.

bows? magic? we probably don't. from what I've seen it looks like dragon encounters will be separate events and won't follow the normal combat like against other enemies. especially considering it appears that we can only kill dragons with a dragon shout.

Oh god, no, I hope NOT like cliff racers. :banghead:

I have bad memories of waiting several minutes at a time for a freaking cliff racer that was glitching out to finally make its way down so I could hit it.

The devs have said multiple times that all dragon encounters are dynamic. They occur just like a fight against any other enemy.

Also, it could have been a coincidence that he killed that dragon in the trailer with a shout.

Sure, if you're a Dragonborn.

I don't think its going to be a good idea to try to kill dragons with arrows because the dragon dragon disappears after you get the shout and you probably cant get your arrows back so the only way to is with swords and axes.

I don't think the price of arrows should be your main concern when fighting a dragon...

That seems like a minor inconvenience and small price to pay to kill a dragon.

the devs said multiple times the same thing about npc's in OB, it was called radiant AI. the problem with this was that it was a trailer and not actual game play (at least not 100%)

the encounters might be dynamic but killing them might take a certain process; dragon shouts for different dragon types. either way, would they really make dragons just bigger tougher enemies with more health. bethesda isn't like that, they'll want dragons to be different from all other enemies and that will be the nail in the coffin imo if it really is really like some boss fight where the boss can be weakended with normal weapons but only killed with a speacial weapon.

I've seen people write this several times...where are people getting the idea that the shout killed it!??! He kills it with his sword after slashing it several times much later in the trailer. The shout does very little to effect the dragon other then keeping him back for a moment.

Wonder what will happen if you hide between trees or even better rocks or ruins and use bows or ranged spells. Will it crash down on you and destroy trees, used ranged magic in return or land a open spot closely and run to you?
One other idea if the dragon had passed over the cliff after the warrior hurt it, would it fall all the way down and die?

Kill dragon with dragon shout possible but not the only way or you will have fun with the first.

I think he killed the dragon by cutting its throat when it flew down towards him....I didn't see him use a dragon shout on it other then at the begining of the fight...

Dragon shouts maybe? maybe they have one that forces teh dragon to land and fight you? Or maybe dragons are dumb or want to fight you honorably

but there was that fire breath, so hiding be hind something, or in a cave is kinda out of the option. (if dragon AI is smart enough to use fire breath when out of line of sight)
