The first FPS games I played were the early DOOM and Quake releases... however the first love of my life in regards to FPS which also was the first one I happened to own was called Marathon created by Bungie (Yes those guys that made Halo) in the early 1990's. I like to think of the Marathon series as the precursor to Halo, all those game modes you enjoy in Halo come directly from the Marathon series of games only released on the Macintosh platform at first. You can now buy Marathon 2 on Xbox live.

As I grew older and started gaming more I got into BF 1942 / BF 2 respectively and greatly enjoyed those titles... I've played the console versions of the recent BF series and it's just not the same (No offense) without 64 players online. I had bought BF: BC 2 for the PC and it was nothing but a console port so I was sad.

I've of course played all the Halo's and Killzones (Own both consoles) so in the end I have a very wide range of experience in many games... I haven't even mentioned the Steam games such as CS : Source and TF2... the list could go on but I'll stop it there for now.

So yeah, there is my experience. I'll be shocked if anyone here knows the Marathon series.

Started with Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM on PC, Perfect Dark and Golden Eye on the 64, all the Halo games, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, GHOST Recon 1 &2 (3 is looking pretty sweet, though I have no clue what the release date is), FEAR 1 & 2 (3 I'm kinda iffy about, will probably get it anyway), some of the older Medal of Honor games, just started Half Life, have yet to try TF2 though (got distracted by Marvel Vs Capcom 3). Obviously there was a decent stint of time between when I got my start and when I really got into FPSs. Not going to list them, but quite a few third person shooters too (RE4 FTW :gun: )

I started on the PC with all things Delta Force ( DF1, 2, LandWarrior, Black Hawk Down, Joint Ops, Escalation and so on) up till the PC release of WWII Online and played that for 5 years solid. Then for some reason I opted to get me one of them fancy xbox thingies due to the fact my TnT 2 graphics card just couldn't keep up with the times and it was getting to costly to game on the PC.

On the box I've played just about any FPS game including Quake Wars which I just loved.

I learned how to play watching my 10 years older brother play games in the late 80's early 90's.

First FPS i got stuck on was Goldeneye for the N64, then Timesplitters.

mostly enjoyed NHL games before and after that, the older the better :)

But 3 years ago I found modern warfare for the X360, amazing fun. Not anymore.
Now it has turned out to be almost a skateboard game instead; with all the spinning and trick shots.

I have high hopes for Brink!

The first PC game I ever played was Doom but it was a few years later until I had a PC and purchased Quake. Playing that game late at night in the dark was amazing.

A few years later, I began playing Team Fortress Classic and was in several clans and guilds (at one point was competing on 5 teams). I could not get enough of that game. Nobody could master every class. When TF2 came out it showed itself an abomination of Fortress games and ruined the intricate movement skills of TFC. I still refuse to play TF2. Many people from the TFC community began working on Fortress Forever. I played it quite a bit and was active on the Dev team for a while.

The Half-Life series has always been a favorite for single player games. Borderlands, Crysis, Fallout 3, Bioshock and Mass Effect have also been great fun.

Unreal Tournament (UT 2003 in think) was a lot of fun and LANing with UT was great fun. Did you know then porm start Asia Carrera was a UT player? She even hosted a couple servers and had some UT skins.

CS and CSS were never for anything more than just casual gaming.

Battlefield provided some good times. Helicopters FTW.

Dystopia is a really good HL mod that I've played a fair bit... but it's tough and the community is really small.

Natural Selection started as a HL mod and is one of the most tweaked games I've seen. If something feels out of balance, it is adjusted. NS is a great team based game and I've had rounds last from a few minutes up to 2 hours.

Left 4 Dead and L4D2 have been fun for casual gaming.

Been gaming for about 15 years.

Started back in the day with Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Descent, Quake 1. Then some Quake 2, Quake 3, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, a HL mod called The Specialists. Then spent about 6 years from 2003 playing Quake 3 CPMA very actively, of course HL2 and now the last few years have been mostly Call of Duty and some CPMA trickjumping.

I've been playing video games since the 80's across different platforms and I've been playing games via lan/online since the mid to late 90's.

Initally I played anything that allowed me to play with others and then I moved to FPS' in the late 90's, playing just about every FPS that's hit the market since.

First ever FPS? Probably Time Splitters 2, wasn't really into FPS before then.

Since then I have played everything from CoD (bleh) Halo, TF2, HL2 to the simple MechWarrior 2 (Picked it up for £0.50p a year or 2 ago)

Then uh... Warhammer 40k: Fire Warrior.

Holy crap I completely forgot about that game! I have fond memories, but I don't think I even bothered to finish it. I can't actually remember. I just love Tau. ^_^

Like many on here it started with goldeneye on the n64, but I had a few years break filling my time with beat em ups and pro evo.

When I got killzone 2 for a random christmas present I was sceptical at first but was soon getting the headshots in.
Since then have dabbled in COD, but i'm just twiddling my thumbs for brink to come out!
