I caught Porphyric Hemophilia...

Post » Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:11 am

I started a new game using Drokks vampirism (yea finally, a work around the freak face bug) infected myself on the tombstone
in the testhall and off I went. Then, I'm doing the Grey Prince quest and Lord Lovidicus infects me! WTF? I guess the face fix
involves you not really being a vampire from the game's POV.
So, my point. Whats the console command to cancel a disease?
I >could< just use a cure disease but that fiddles the mod.

From http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Vampirism:

Console Method

Give yourself the Cure Vampirism potion by typing the following Console command:

player.additem 977E4 1

If you added vampirism with the console, you may also need to use the following commands:

Set PCVampire to 0
Set vampire.hasdisease to 0

Erm, if you don't have vampirism yet, that probably wouldn't work, would it? :P

You could just type in the console command to get a cure disease potion.

I'm looking for the console command to cure a disease,
I don't want to use a potion in game if I can help it cuz
it'll bork the mod for a while. My look of being a normal
person goes away.

Things just fell apart for my vampire character. I was thinking I'd just be a carrier of PH. 6 days after being
infected Something broke loose, probably because I BOSSed my load order and I became a vampire, again.
I'm falling back to earlier saves, but no no no. I keep turning, even the save where I had barely just been
infected. I pull Drokk's mod. Everything is mostly normal now, except everybody is giving me the "you look sick"
response. But I have no active diseases showing.

It sounds like the disease has affected your mind an an unknown way. I suggest quarantine and lots of cheese, lots, and lots of cheese.

Just go to Deepscorn Hollow and bust out the salt from the walls, go into the Font of Renewal and you're ok. And stay away from mods that don't tend to do things correctly.

Are you reloading these saves from a "clean load" of Oblivion? I know that problems can occur with loading from the in-game loading menu and recently learned that corruption can even occur when loading from the Main menu. Try exiting windows and then loading up one of these games, starting with the oldest one where you might not be affected then working your way up, starting with a clean load each time....

I know it sounds tedious, but worth it, I think, for saluaging your game and preventing save game corruption.

Also, I guess it's possible that the reordering of your Load Order could be causing the issue; I thought Oblivion was pretty good about this, but I know in Morrowind, sometimes if you changed more than 1 mod at a time or reordered your mods too much with an existing save, it would cause problems. That's why even to this day with Oblivion, once I set my load order for my game, I try not to change it too much, only adding 1 mod at a time, etc.

Good luck!

Thread Necros! RUN!
That problem was many moons ago. Now I have a whole new set of heartburn, but that's a subject for its own topic.
