Up to 16 total and 8 on each team, 4 classes, games can be up to 40 mins atleast that is the longest I have seen it going on.

Beautifully Organized Chaos.

From what I understand it was always be 8v8 unless you create a match w/different settings. There will then be a time limit that increases each time an objective is accomplished, so if nothing is being accomplished stalemate style, the game will end quickly.

8v8 = 16 in total

I've heard about 20-30 minutes per game

Anyone hear anything about if you will be able to change the number of players allowed on each team with server settings?

Is that a bad thing?

Also granted there may be alot going on but your not the only person playing. In the videos it makes it seem alot more chaotic because he is switching roles and doing multiple objectives for all the different roles. When you actually play the game you may just stick to one class doing those objectives so it will be alot less chaotic.

On the other note there isnt really side missions anymore there are core objectives to further advancing your party and then smaller objectives for example: Solider may need to blow up a doorway to advance his team while that is going on may have an objective to refill his teammates ammo or A medic may be escorting an NPC for a mission and he will have objectives to revive downed teammates.

I don't know exactly how long matches are but 20-30 min. max sounds about right, but they also said that each primary objective has a timer so that if you don't complete whichever primary objective you're on in the time allotted, then the game will end early. For example, I believe it was Ed Stern or Neil Alphonso who said in an interview that if you don't blow the gate on Container City in 5-10 minutes, than the game ends and you lose, but if you do blow the gate than the next primary objective will open up with a new timer.

What Gotcha said,
Also don't you think if there was too much going on, Splash Damage would've toned it down a bit? They've had an extra year to balance something like that, so I'm very confident with the outcome.

Good teams will make better and longer lasting matches. I can see some games being an hour ( real time ). That depends tho. Some of us will see games like this in later weeks of play.

Timers do reset after you complete each main objective. So....have fun.

If you've played SD's other objective based shooters (Wolfenstein ET, or ET:Quake Wars) then you should be used the "mayhem". Its really not as bad as it may appear, once you know the objectives for each map and each side, you should be fine.
