Brink On Xbox 360 Gets Day One Patch

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 4:17 pm

That's strange, I thought Brink had been designed for 360 and ported to the other consoles. Oh well, doesn't really matter considering we'll have the patch as soon as we start up the game.

Why does everyone seem to think that SD is lying when they say they developed the three in parallel?

Sure, they used common resources, but using the same images and design to create the interface in all 3 isn't the same as making an interface for one system then making that programming work on another.

I keep hearing "it was developed on X and ported to the others" - if the person's a really devoted fan for one platform, that's usually the one they say the game was developed for as a "main" platform.

SD have made it fairly clear that there's little to no porting between platforms. Anything that is ported will most likely be limited to XBox and PC, because they have a lot of crossover in their architecture, whereas some things that will work on both will need heavy modification (or a total rewrite) to achieve comparable results on the PS3.

What a world we live in that we can go to the store, buy a little disc in a little box with a big game on it, take it home, pop it into the console and let the developers continue to work on it.

People are being, no offense, stupid about this. It's an update. What was the last game you played that didn't require an update? Sh*t the only reason people are so worried is because Brinks release time was pushed back more than once. It's just an update to tweak graphics and as someone above said hard drive issues. Seriously, no big deal. Plus with the dev's having delayed release twice, if this little issue seemed like a real problem they probably would have delayed it again,,

Read le above post >.<

It's a patch for some clipping issues and what have you. It won't 'svck" just cause you don't get the update..

if people without internet want the update, they could take their 360 hard drive over to a friends house who has internet and get the update that way. I wouldnt worry to much about it though. I was at first but its no biggy.
