I'm sorry mw2 ruined the class of sniper for every game here on out. Everything was gravy before infinity ward made the scoping function auto aim at peoples chest. Which made every [censored] 12 year old try and make all the casual gamers rage. Anyways back to the topic.
Setting an invisible mine requires no skill. My 4 year old nephew could perform said task. Same goes for a turret. Now to your counterpoints. "Don't go where mine chokepoints are" "turrets can't move" so I have to "learn and adapt" to mines but you don't have to learn and adapt to a sniper. I see the logic.
Now someone said turrets are used to suppress. That's weird so are snipers. You can argue allllll day long but in the end turrets and mines are no skill. Also if you watched the newest video you'd see that the guy was killed by the mine, maybe just incapped but the screen was red (no gun). Making him useless and essentially dead.
Next we'll deal with the I'm a tdm killwhoring noob...no actually I've played on top competetive teams in most fps games since 2000. Americas army (at its peak 1.5 - 1.9), cod 1 and 2 on the pc. All of these are search and destroy and "domination" style. You might not like people who go for kills. But if all the other team is dead, what objectives are they taking?
So once again do not call a sniper shot a no skill kill because its a lot harder to hit someone in the chest with a shot while they're moving then slapping a turret or mine on the ground. People probably think I'm raging, but I'm just stating a fact. Besides all there are semi auto snipers in brink and you'll still be dead in 1 second, but it'll be 2 or 3 quick shots. Can't wait for that rage. Enjoy.
