Two handed Spells?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:57 pm

I am no sure if you guys caught this but http://k.min.us/ilG8cQ.png this screen shot shows a two handed spell blast. This raises the question, will we be able to combine two spells in either hand. I sure hope so.

I think it was mentioned somewhere, maybe in the gameinformer magazine, that if you have the same spell effect on both hands, then you can combine them for a more powerful spell in 1 hit. That combined with the picture leads me to say yes.

no it has never been stated that you can actually combine the two spell affects. The picture could just be a new two handed spell system, similar to claymore or doublebladed axes.

Ya, it was confirmed in an article by Game Informer about a month ago.

One of the more alluring changes to the spellcasting in Skyrim is how you can employ spells in different ways. For instance, you could blast enemies with a flame ball from afar, hold the button down to wield the spell like a flame thrower, place a rune on the ground to create an environmental trap that spontaneously combusts when an enemy steps on it, or equip the spell with both hands to deliver high damage fireball attacks that drain your magicka reserves quickly. The shock and frost spells give players an equal amount of flexibility.

There you go.

Definitely been confirmed that you can cast a more powerful version of a spell by equipping the same spell to each hand. This was confirmed in the GI article and multiple other articles from magazines all around the world. I believe Todd talked about this in the podcast as well.

There hasn't been any confirmation on combining spell effects, however. That is, having a fire spell in one hand and an ice spell in the other to create a "steam" spell or something like that.

I was thinking more along the line that some spells would need two hands... or charging an attack spell would need two hands.

Combine? As in two separate spells? I dont think so. But if you equip the same in both hands it makes one more powerful one.

It was in the magazine itself. I can't "show" you, as that would be a magazine scan and is a no-no, but I can quote. I have it right here.

"Set two completely different spells in either hand, or put the same spell in both hands, letting you combine the spell to extraordinary effect." Pg. 50
