Why so much negativity on Co-Op

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:03 am

Just the ability to play with at the very least 1 other player or go with the norm and do 4 player co-op..not MMO, doesnt even need pvp, just the ability to play the game with friends would be so awesome. can we get a solid answer from a dev about this, if no co-op def not buying

It's been confirmed there's no co-op, I believe.

Elder Scrolls series is designed to be an epic single player experience. I guess you won't be playing this great game then.

It ruins the game immersion in my opinion. The game is about the story, characters, lore and world...none of which you can give a damn about when your buddy is teabagging the nearest downed foe.

Just my two cents...

dont know. maybe because alot of people asscociate it with mmo? imo it would be meh... I used to want mmo (mostly because I wanted to trade my equip with other players, but I realized for it to work as an mmo they would need to constantly be adding new content or it would get boring fast.) no reason to not have co op imo, but bgs does come from the pc side of developing and alot of the co-op connection things (don't remember what their called, can name one tho, windows gaming live *or whatever*) historicly havent been that successful.

No Skyrim for you.

I for one don't want multiplayer or co-op or whatever because TES games work way better as solo sandboxes. There's nothing like the complete freedom they allow, and co-op modes would restrict that.

Why the hell would you not buy it if coop isn't included? Forgive me, but that sounds incredibly stupid. In my opinion, coop would make the game worse because the dev team would stray away from their forte (single player) and put time and resources into a coop feature many wouldn't use.

Even if you want coop, not having it wouldn't make the game not suitable of buying. If you want to play multiplayer, but multiplayer focused games, like Call of Duty.

Guess you're not buying Skyrim. TES is a solo sandbox game, not a co-op game.

This.

And oh well, I'm buying two copies of Skyrim - one for me and one for my bf so we can play at the same time (I ain't sharing!) so I guess that'll make up for you not buying. :P

I doubt The Elder Scrolls will ever be co-op. If anything, some company will turn it into an MMO; and that will be the death of this great great franchise.

Guys please, we have an official thread for all multiplayer discussion and there was no need for further posting in here after Alois Hammer linked to it.

Notiqx I'm not 100% certain but I believe it was confirmed on twitter that there would be no multilplayer (as with the rest of the core Elder Scrolls series). Multiplayer is a resource intensive feature to implement and the devs would rather focus on adding additional features to the single player experience.
