The King wont talk to me. :(

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:22 pm

Okay, so I talked with Lady Brisienna (sp) and she told me that I might want to see if that letter even arrived, and I could go straight to Daggerfall Castle to find out. I went there, spoke with the King, and he said "I've heard of you. Nothing good. Get lost." Why is this? I'm not infamous, I don't think I've committed any crime. If I did, it was probably sleeping in public.

Usually a noble reaction to anyone not worth his time. Anyways, try leveling up a bit (5 being a good starting point). If ya still interested in getting involve within the Daggerfall Castle, try talking to the maid Cyndassa (at the bottom step of the great staircase to the king, there a back door on the left).

I'll be honest. That king in the Daggerfall Castle, King Gothryd, is an ass and would not help ya on ya search. There are other people that might give ya info in regard to the main quest. Some might sent ya a letter as ya progress in the game. As I said before, that maid might give ya hook up to another person that would help ya in some part of the Main Quest.

While all this is going on, just join a Guild or Faction and do some part time job. Take ya time, mkay?

Mkay. :)

Though I think I am really starting to roleplay without thinking about it. After I delivered the gold bar to this one lady, she said "It was a pleasure doing business with you!" But I couldn't remember if I hit "And with you, ma'am" or if I thought it. I reloaded to see...I thought it, but I thought that it was in the game. :P

I work for the Knights of the Dragon quite a bit to build some rep, but as I recall, you don't need to talk to the king himself for quite awhile in the main quest. Have you tried the queen?

Nothing happens when I activate her.

Then you aren't high enough level to talk to her yet, or haven't done a prerequisite quest.

FYI, the kings never do anything for you except offer Nobleman quests. It's the queens you'll want to see for the MQ.

To OP:

I don't recommend starting the MQ until level 10 or 15.

Peeps here will tell you how easy a time they had beating it ("I beat DAGGERFALL with one hand tied behind my back! Going uphill in the snow!! Both ways!!!") but there is an early step at a place full of very, very nasty undead which have high immunities . . .

Just my 2c.

I just looked it up, and most of the main quest things don't start till after you're level five, and then you have to level up from there to do some of the middle or later ones. The minimum level to beat the game is 14.
