...How do you swim in Daggerfall?

Hmm I really am wondering where I saw that. It was on a site showing things that could have been in the game. And the Museum doesn't have it. Wait.. I think the website showed a picture where there is a sprite of the daedra lord Peyrite inside a city wall. The dragon-like daedra lord. Maybe it was The Essential Site?

It's amazing how cryptic most pre-release Daggerfall media has become. I'm not sure about that screenshot, but there are two that have continually eluded me - http://uesp.net/wiki/File:DF-SS-Army.gif and http://uesp.net/wiki/File:DF-SS-Camaron.gif, depicting what I believe to be the Battle of Cryngaine Field. I originally thought they were scrapped videos from the game, but the UESP page says that they were actually part of a promotional cutscene shown during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show?) many years ago. Do you know if the video, or any other screengrabs of it, may yet exist?

^ He keeps one shotting me. First off, what the hell is he? Nothing else in the game has done so much damage. Second; how am I suppose to kill him if he can cast one spell and my hp drops to zero?

Behold, the Vampire Ancient!
With the Ancient Lich, he's the toughest enemy in the game.

What you need to defeat this baddie is high resistance to magic and loads of HP. :)
You see, magic casters will use all their spells at once when they are in range. That means he's killing you around 5-6 times at the same second. :P

So unless you have a way to boost your Willpower up, and your Endurance for more HP, you'll have a though time beating the guy. Sometimes they kill themselves with their spells. (Or is it the Lich?)

Good luck!

I have never seen the video but like you, I've always wanted to see it. I'm afraid I do not know of any other screenshots depicting the scenes. They really intrigue me. Maybe it's on an old hard drive in Beth's studios. The same hard drive on which lies Daggerfall's source code that they lost. :P

lol, wonderful. In all elderscrolls games I always make multiple characters, and I was curious how do these two things work together - http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/5486/elaborateplz.jpg

I thought endurance determined your hp, so what is the max hit points per level for?

Those ancient vampires are hard to kill. Cliffworms is right, though it is liches that kill themselves with spells. I kill these guys either by using a shield spell that lasts just long enough for me to get enough hits on one of these guys to kill him, or I levitate into the void and peg him with arrows. If you have a bow you can also find a long corridor and get him to chase you while you fill him with arrows. Good luck. Dungeons full of those guys are frustrating.

During character generation you set your max hit points per level. Which means that when you level up you will get anywhere from max down to 1/2 max. Your Endurance modifier adds to this.
Example: Your max hit points are set to 20 and Endurance is 70 (modifier = 2).
At level up you will receive 10 - 20 plus 2 hit points.
