Do we know anything about the magic system?

So me and my group of friends were talking about TES5, and the question came up...

What are they doing with magic?

In my all mighty opinion(jokes), magic was probably the most boring system in TES. It was always the same deal over and over. There was no real variation in them. This spell was single target, this one was the same thing, but AoE... This one was this spell, and that spell put together (yay).

For being a world with a very powerful magical influence, people were pretty uncreative. Sure, there was alot of variety for passive spells (chamelion, shield, reflect, buff this buff that) and that was fine, but for your offensive spells, fire, cold, and lightning... It was just either choose single high damage spell, AoE spell, or suicidal Touch spell. Kinda boring and limited.

We talked about how it would be cool if there were new types of spells, or ways to use them. Like for fire, perhaps a pillar, waves, or cones of fire. Perhaps a timed fireball, for traps. Other spells could be like chain lightning, wall of ice (ice barrier). Theres tons more they can do, so i'm wondering what they did.

I'm aware theres probably a compendium of some type for all the info released, but i dont see it. If there is, i'd like it if some one could link it. (as opposed to just talking about it)

Okay, here's what we know about magic:

-spells are now equipped to the hands, just like weapons (this also means you can dual wield spells).
-individual spells now have a wider range of uses. For example, you no longer have a fire bolt spell, and a fire touch spell, and a fire AoE spell; instead, you just have a single fire spell, and when equipped, if you tap the button you get a fire projectile, hold down the button to get a flamethrower effect, equip the spell to both hands and it becomes an AoE, and so on.
-Mysticism have been cut, and its spells redistributed to other skills.
-Enchant is back.
-spell making might be cut.

That's about the sum total of what we know so far

Hmm, do a little research :)

80+ Spells I beleive?
Also 20 Shouts....

Fire Spells can now do things like
Flamethrower
Hold down your spell button to create a massive fireball
Fire Runes that act like traps that you can place on the ground..
Fire Sprays that act like spray cans placed.
Telekenesis is in

Then in the new trailer is is a bunch of things also that reveal certain things...

There's ALOT they have done to make spells so much better...

Spell Creation has been talked about, and it might be gone. Not confirmed, but Todd said there is alot more you can do with spells now that make it feel more created in that sense. (Not his exact words.)

Also you can combine spells

There's alot they've done with spells...

A nice thing to know is that Arkane Studios has joined Bethesda and they are the devs of Dark Messiah of Magic and Might and this is what they've done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv7WeZmj2G0

It's also rumored that they are currently working on Skyrim =D
and from the recent trailer, I'm going to have to say that rumor is so very true.

the 80 spells are actually spell effects like in Oblivion, one fire effect many fire based spells. the problem with the spellmaker in Morrowind and Oblivion is that it don't fit many of Skyrims spells very well, a fire spell can be used both as a fireball and as a flamethrower and as a trap. Now all this uses will give problem if you has a combined spell like long term fire damage and turn undead.
On the other side, many spells get far more useful with the spellmaker, like the turn undead and fire damage or summon+ invisibility spells.
