I don't view characters as extensions of myself, I view them as just that, Characters.
It's an opportunity to explore personalities and mindsets other than my own, so naturally I want to get into
everyone's head. Male and Female characters. It's like writing a book, you don't go "I'm only going to write extensions of myself."
Then again, I mainly roleplay. And no, I don't get creepy and "over-sixualized" with characters, having people wear armor that barely would be considered metal swim-wear. I find that immature and lacking in depth, personally. You don't get to "know" a character that way, you're just distracted by them. I'd like to think I can dive fairly deeply into the male and female characters I make. Men and women, aren't that different from a mental standpoint. Most of those differences
are social constructs. There've been ruthless female warrior-queens and compassionate emotional male poets.
