animal life.
birds that take off into the sky when you get near them, rats (not giant ones) that crawl around the slums in towns, someone's pet cat sitting on the railing outside their house, and squirrels running up trees and around forests.

Personally I think it was OB's biggest Fail. I want my soulgems to be named again like Daggerfall or MW. I.E. Soul Trapped enemies would have their names tagged to the soul gem after you defeated them. Excellent trophies.

I so wish I could have trapped the "Adoring Fan" in a soulgem.

THIS.

A Thousand Times.

Just imagine having Valen Dreth in a soulgem.....

Freelook in 1st person, so I don't have to change the direction of travel to look at something. It's already in 3rd person except the head doesn't move.
Full body awareness in 1st person. Basically let me see my own body when I look down, making 1st and 3rd person be exactly alike.
See Arma2 how well this is handled.

More ancient little things in tombs, not just in chest's but hidden in the walls and behind and beneath rocks and so on. I sometimes want to find even better stuff hidden around the cave than what is locked in a chest. More corpses in weird places. Rain that makes different sounds when it hits buckets and hollow steel, making a cool sound effect walking through a city when its raining.

[*]Natural Walking Speed. This subtle detail I will take from Red Dead Redemption where your character actually looks like he is walking at a natural speed, and in a natural way. They did this very well and it really added to the immersion.

[*]Natural Salutations.

Actually I think they had believeable walking speed. Did you have Oblivion for PC or console? Console it depends on the pressure you put on the anolog stick to wether your in a jog or walking. Lightly moving the stick forward keeps you at a brisk walk. Not sure for PC but it seemed like it was believable enough.

Agree here, nice comparison by the way. Always hated that constant staring, so difficult to sneak.

It's actually fairly believable for the PC -- using WASD makes your character walk, and holding shift or pressing caps lock made you run.

What do you want to see?

It would be fun if you broke into someones house and go near their room and you hear
"ooh fun, aahh, don't tell your husband, keep going baby, and other perverted stuff
then when you open the room you see two people play cards or chess

I want an improved first person view with visible legs and whatnot.
More unique places to find in the wilderness
Drug effects, when I eat some moonsugar (if its in the game) I want [censored] to get crazy
And it would be really cool if when you grab something to place it , it actually goes in your hand instead of floating in front of you.
