I'd like a TES for the PSP/DS

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Daggerfall is perfectly suited for the DS. Graphically, it's not above what the DS can handle (and would probably look better on a smaller screen!) and the combat system just screams "touch screen".

I'd prefer a remake over a straight port (option for 3rd person perspective please, and perhaps a slight overhaul of the graphics- simple 3D models for characters and enemies would be nice, as well as modernized Khajiit designs [ie Suthay-raht, or at least add them to the possible Khajiit faces] and playable Imperials), but I could live quite comfortably with the original version ported to the DS. :D

Totally acceptable, i can see it now, Bethesda isn't so close to Nintendo, but they went with Playstation so who knows... i think its an awesome idea, one flaw is the mapping... The map is one of the biggest in gaming history, i can't imagine it in one portable gaming system. But then again i don't know the bytes either.

Actualy daggerfall isn't even 1 gb but sadly the ds card slots can only fit like a few hundred mb.

Hopefully they will release Morrowind on the new 3ds.
As far as I know there are two elder scrolls like games in the ds, orcs and elves, and fighting fantasy.

Largest Commercial release DS cart is slightly over 500 mb. Konami I believe was the first to use a cartridge of this size, earlier this year with Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story. To be quite honest if Daggerfall was ported to the ds, and not done with some horrible emulation method, it would easily fit within a cart that size with modern techniques. Personally, I'm more interested in a remake of Morrowind for the new 3DS. While we are still about less than 24 hours from the real technical details going public, all the leaked specs, clearly demonstrate a system more than capable for such a game.

Morrowind is too demanding for both the PS1 and PS2.

In terms of it being a total CPU hog with an atrociously inefficient game engine? Probably. :P

I wouldn't mind seeing Daggerfall released on the PSP, especially if it utilized the upcoming DaggerXL and got a batch of high-res textures thrown in.

Likewise, a Redguard and/or Battlespire remake/port to the PSP would be awesome.

I think the problem with phones (maybe) is that they go obsolete faster than the dedicated hand-held consoles (as in, it's function and purpose is for gaming, not "I'm a phone, and oh yeah, you can game on me too"). That's just speculation on my part, I do not know for certain about phone obsolescence rates compared to hand-held consoles' rates.

Yeah, I'm still disappointed they cancelled their PS2 port of Redguard. And that they never released any DirectX patch for Redguard, although it was nice to read an interview with Todd Howard last year where he said that was one of the major mistakes of his carreer, to not make Redguard Direct3D based, so it's something he acknowledges at least, after I've been complaining about it for many years (was pretty much the reason why I originally joined this forum too :P)

Good point, they get faster and more powerful each year. Just 8 years ago the phones were still on the same level as a computer from 1980 and now the hardware is even slightly more powerful than the last generation of consoles. That's 20+ years of hardware progress in 8 years.

I'm curious what will happen when the mobile hardware gets relatively close to the current computer hardware. Will the next next generation of gaming consoles simply be a handheld device you connect to the TV?
