When i do play any cod game the only time i use a skill that makes my footsteps quite is when i feel like being sneaky. I use a silencer 90% of the time cuz i just like the way some guns look with a silencer....

When u look at an enemy, they appear ONLY on YOUR radar, but when u AIM at an enemy they appear on YOUR AND YOUR team's radars for 5 seconds. See? Its not bad.

When an operative on the enemy team interogates one of your fallen team mates, and with good operatives on the enemy team expect that radar to be going as much as possible.

That's why I like the operative no one can hide. Its also the comm hack ability now.

What are the drawbacks to using a silencer?

Like in MGS I think it decreases bullet damage and in MAG it decreases accuracy at range.

What are the drawbacks to using a muzzle brake?

Just curious.

Not specifically at OP, but I'm tired of people thinking they have every right to know what's going on everywhere on the map all the time and that everybody else should have to submit to it. If I wanted to see everybody I would find a game that had no walls and just one big empty room to run around in.

If you want to run around like you belong in a Schwarzeneggar movie go ahead, but I shouldn't be punished for preferring to not show up on your radar. There doesn't need to be a counter or punishment, you've got the option of using it and there's always the enticement of other abilities and attachments to draw players to something else. If my play style benefits from an ability I skip out on other abilities in order to get it.

It goes back to playing the game. Too many features take the play away because people want the game to do it for them.

Silent running may be a pretty often taken skill, but there's one thing you have to remember. Being in the field of view of an enemy also puts you on the whole enemy team's radar. When you are shooting, you generally are shooting at someone who is going to turn and look at you. The silencer will only keep you hidden if you if you are regularly killing people from behind. Same with silent running, its only going to help you out much if you regularly expect to be running around near enemies, but outside their field of view.

Most players are going to start a firefight if they know an enemy is there, rather than sneaking around behind their back.

If suppressors reduce your effective range, damage, or anything else to balance their advantage (they do), then they probably won't be TOO overused. But probably a little. Silent Running, on the other hand, I see as being pretty much critical for a Light, and a large number of Mediums as well. So that probably will be picked up by a lot of people.

I don't think that's a problem though, honestly.

Partly because people will have to get a fair way into the game before they can do it, and partly because I think a large number of stealth-focused players will make everyone more cautious, and alert.
