We already know we have more weapons added into the game, so hurray to everyone. However your splitting hairs on some of the weapons. Spears, polearms and poleaxes are all the same thing. Pole-axes and Spears are under the family "pole-arm". Staves are basically mage's staves though there are combat staves but I think mages staves are fine. Crossbows are too slow reloading to be effective weapons. If you've ever used a crossbow before, you would know that you wouldn't want to try to use it in open combat. Long bows are just bows. Some bows will be larger, some will be smaller, it all depends on the type but they are just bows. Throwing weapons would be nice to put back in the game but it's not something I would miss if they weren't by any stretch of the imagination. Meh about seige engines. Flail never really has been explored in the TES mythos, it could go either way but once again it is one of those things no one should bat an eye to if it isn't in a game. One handed hammers weren't actually that common in any combat. They exist in some fantasies but maces are basically just one handed hammers.
You have a lot to learn about weapons. . . Most of this doesn't really offer any real opinion on the topic, you don't offer a source when you say more are in, which leads me to question the validity of your statements in general. Yes, spears, pole-arms pole-axes, and javelins could be put under the same category. So what. . . Mage's staff and a combat staff are COMPLETELY different, unless they made it to where it can be used as both. Currently as we know from oblivion it can only guard. Crossbows can be used in a variety of ways all depending on the user. Long bows have more power and longer range. They were responsible for the death of heavy armor and knights.
Yes if throwing weapons were not added it wouldn't hurt, but the same thing could be said for many features, so that really isn't any argument.
Meh? Your writing makes my head hurt.
Not being in the lore isn't an argument in this case being that it's set in the future and in a new land. One handed hammers were prevalent in many wars, favored by vikings. For christ sake, they worship a man who used one. No one cares that maces are just one handed hammers we like variation it's what the whole thread is about.
God, that was a lot to correct.
