What was better Morrowind or Oblivion?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:30 pm

Morrowind and Game of the Year Edition was better than Oblivion. Well duh it had better graphics but it came out later so please dnt use that as an excuse. I mean morrowind had spears, crossbows, and ninja like weapons! It had more guilds ( best ones to me were the morag tong and the imperial one that gave you the werewolf quest) customizable armor it meaning too being able to mix them up and what happened to helmets.
All the summonings where epic sweet, what was your favorite and why, the best one was Golden Saint. Y they take alot of them out? the one that shot the nuclear holocaust was epic too, ate to many of those gay ass Cliff Racer lol and got super fat i think it was dremora? Y they take out spears and crossbows? The main story was way better, i think longer, hated Azura though, i mean you walked so it was harder to find things but thats great more reason to get mad. I always say if a game can't get u mad and Oblivion didn't then its not good! But please leave fool details i want to know ideas an other things about your reason! O yeah y they take out alot of guilds too.
Thanks and Cheers!!!

Just so you know, there are dozens if not hundreds of threads related to this. Use the search bar. Let alone this topic is not Skyrim related whatsoever.

I don't mean to be rude, and you can correct me if I'm wrong... but a) I don't game vs game threads are allowed in the forum rules and B ) this isn't the right sub forum for this discussion.

WTH?

Since when do pretty girls play video games?

On Topic- Neither game was better than the other. MW had a great gameworld, but OB had so many improvements that you cant even compare them other than like this.

OB = 10.0
MW = 10.0

This has been discussed a bunch of times and the problem is people often fail to stay, well, even vaguely under control during them. Anyway, should be in series discussion probably, definitely not skyrim general discussion
Edit: But as for my preference, I like Oblivion gameplay more than Morrowind. I like Morrowind story more than Oblivion. Overall, I'd go with Oblivion over Morrowind.

For me, Modded Morrowind = Modded Oblivion.
Of course I like them for completely different reasons, but I have the same amount of fun in both of them (once modded).

:stare:

There's really nothing to discuss. Some people prefer Morrowind, some people prefer Oblivion, some people prefer Daggerfall or Arena or Redguard or Battlespire. It's possible some people prefer one of the cellphone games but that seems unlikely. Regardless, this is the type of topic that just turns into a giant flame war and does no good for the community.

there really is no better, both games were great and you can shape them any way you want, a lot of people say that Oblivion is worse now, that it has so many flaws but it is mainly because it was the last ES

if you like RP games and dont care about graphics then Morrowind is your choice
if you care less about RP then Oblivion is the better game

in my personal opinion I think Oblivion is so much greater than Morrowind, simply becuase of the AI and graphics, its not even that Oblivions graphics were bad, but it was more that Morrowinds svcked so much, if you play Oblivion first it will take some getting used to

Prepare for a http://www.youtube.com/user/TradeChat. :happy:

On topic: I still play Morrowind, while Oblivion was getting old after 2 months, and staying so even with a crapload of mods.

Oblivion is my preferred game, despite its gaping design flaws (levelling system, unique or hidden areas/ items). Morrowind is also good, but takes patience to play especially these days. What i hate though, is the Morrowind fans who have bashed Oblivion over the last 5 years and won't hear a word against MW. They're basically turning into the Elder Scrolls equivelent of the Final Fantasy VII really devoted fan nation. (Although it has stopped recently)

I also took part in those discussions, and from my memory the two main issues were the absence of a lot of options and abilities found in Morrowind, as well as the consolification of the game. For the most part I found the criticism valid.

In the end I judge a game by how much I play it.

Oh Feh. Although we have had lengthy - and many - threads about differences between MW and OB, the ones that start out with a belligerant sort of post never fare well. Like this one.
