Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss

The Kingkiller Chronicles is a trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss with two books out so far, The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear. I consider myself very literate and having read a lot of books (like A LOT) and I can honestly say that these books are by far my favorite. Rothfuss is a new author, these are the first books he's come out with. Yet both of these made it onto the New York Times Bestseller list and have received outstanding reviews. I love these books because they're atypical fantasy, Rothfuss does a great job telling this story in a new and exciting way. And he's created a world and story full of detail.

Anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone else has read them and what you think about them. And if you haven't read them, I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

Yep I've read them both and absolutely loved them!! My only criticism was the loooong wait between books but that was made worse by the fact they gave out an early release date so it felt like I waited doubly long. :(

The characters are fantastic and the story is one of the best I've read. Can't wait til the third book :)

I was introduced to them by Penny Arcade, and I have to say it's one of my favorite fantasy series. This is coming from a person who doesn't usually read fantasy either. I even bought The Wise Man's Fear in hardback for a highway robbery price of $30 because I liked The Name Of The Wind so much. :P
