Will the 360 Version last?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:51 pm

Hello forum goers!

I'm sorta new to these forums so I hope this topic hasn't already been covered.

I have this slight fear that the Xbox 360 community for this game won't last and I just wanted some extra input. The reason for me asking is I have Brink pre-ordered for the 360 due to my friends not having PC's to run the game and I have been hyped for the game for months, but my friends are looking at it going "eh...this game doesn't look too good" Insane right? Well I hope you all can give me some insight on how you all think this game will do and hope that this game won't get buried under games like COD, Halo, BFBC2, and Gears.

Well the preorders are looking good for 360 so far, at over 200,000k and I think review scores will help come next week.

Well, in my opinion, COD is a horrible game and a disgrace to every game ever made, and BFBC2 is just an attempt at getting as many sales as COD by adding a few cool features. Gears has a huge fanbase, but soon i think Brink will have a larger one.

Oh my goodness! What's with all the topics with people pessimistic about Brink lol. 1 out of every 3-5 topics are someone who are worried about the games release. I think the game will do just fine on XBOX. I think you guys have about 150,000 more Pre-orders than PS3 players

It all depends on how everyone likes it. It just not be some peoples cup of tea. Or it may be some peoples crack. We will have to see when its been out for a while.

I hope so. I find COD fine in the sense that you shouldn't take it too seriously while its community does take it seriously which sorta ruins the game for me. I just really hope this game gets the respect it deserves and that it isn't ruined by not having dedi servers or not having a TDM mode :\

I work at a GameStop and we have a lot of pre-orders on the 360 version. It's the one I'm picking up personally.

I don't get these posts. You don't need many people AT ALL for a game to "last" or "work" with a matchmaking system.

Medal of Honor (crap game IMO) when I tried it had less than 1,000 players in a few of the game types and less than 10,000 people on total yet it was no issue at all. Some of the lesser played Reach playlists will have less than 1,000 people and I play them all the time.

Not an issue to worry about.

I'm actually going to blame the nature of PSN (and their recent "down-time") to the lower numbers here. Otherwise I'm sure the numbers would be about the same.

But on topic as for the game lasting, So long as people are playing it, and there is a thriving community, the game will always live.

It can get frustrating when a games community doesn't last :\. Slow matchmaking times and what not.

I believe it will. It offers experiences that no other games can match.

I hate to go slightly off topic here, but you all are giving me great feedback and I thank you, but I also wanted to know what system the videos on the site are from? If anyone knows the answer to this it would be really appreciated.

Ah, okay. One issue I'm having is showing my friends previous videos that are from the 360 and then they see these videos and are like "Wow this game looks all jumpy! Why would we want this?"

It's only the same as the PS3, both consoles have alternatives, well even the PC does. I reckon if people like it, the console versions will last. I played quite a bit of Warhawk the beginning of last year and there's still a lot of players on that and that was a release title.

i halfway agree with u, but bfcb2 is nothing like cod. comparing the two in any way makes you seems stupid. everyone in the battlefield community hates cod too man. I know this is what SD is going for specifically, but ill be pleasantly suprised if this game takes more skill than bc2 and the kills are more skillful than that game. (minus chopper whoring). Im hoping for this, ive been playing multiplayer fps since CS beta and this new breed of COD and COD clones is ruining gaming. dont put games like BFBC2 in that group tho, that game is one of the few games that is still doing it right. Im hoping Brink is better than that, but I highly doubt it will be better than BF3, just sayn.

Well not better or worse the BF3 really just different games and with different goals.

I will want BF3 for the huge maps, vehicles, and big teams. Things Brink doesn't offer.

Sorry, I guess I left room for misunderstanding I was listing games that were pretty well known for their multiplayer. I wasn't trying to say COD = BFBC2 in any sort of manner.
