skyrim needs gore and dismemberment

No, it doesn't. A teen-rated light-hearted fantasy doesn't need gore.

I'm sorry but is this guy for real? Teen rated? Please don't make me mad, I will not play TES if it isn't M.

Todd Howard said that they're not putting in as much gore as Fallout, this is an ELDER SCROLLS game not a Fallout game.
I've lost count of how many times I have to tell people that.

^^ Fallout 3's gore was more like cartoon violence - with the Bloody mess perk - you would shoot someone in the leg ,and then the whole body would explode..

I prefer it to be more subtle and realistic , which with Skyrim is i believe what they are aiming for. :>
Seems like you want it much less than realistic. Battle axes and swords would realistically create so much blood gore it'd probably make Dragon Age look like child's play.

Not Fallout dismemberment (i.e. see thin 9mm pistol of mine? you're head is now gone!), but more reasonable, like lopping a guy's arm off in one of the finisher animations. Also, no taking a guy's head off with an arrow like in Fable.

Dude, after watching the part where the guy gets a sword jammed down his chest I can guarantee it'll receive and M rating.

I'd be okay with dismemberment from axes as a finisher... but only one limb per kill... I don't want the bloody mess perk all over again...*sniper to the head* *head is blown off, along with arms and legs!!! Yay torso!*

There was tons of blood in this trailer. Not to mention the blood in the screens in the GI mag. Also, there is at least some dismemberment and gore since you lop off a draugr's head in the trailer.

If you go frame by frame, his head actually doesn't come off, it's just out of socket and just hanging there behind him. I wonder if there's an animation of them readjusting their head. That little scene bothers me though, because the blood doesn't come from his head, but near his abdomen.

Also there appears to be a slight glitch with the handle in the head picture, you see his fingers going through the axe-handle?

There IS dismemberment, watch the IGN rewind trailer:
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Q8n1c3hsLZo

Go to the 7:07 mark, you can easily see the guy smashing his axe down onto a skeletons head and it snaps back and off..

Hopefully this applies to humans and creatures as well depending on the weapon you use, location hit, etc.

this may be a little off topic, but at 2:50 they say that the armor and weapon types is different to the series, but the helmet reminds me of Daggerfall

This game needs to have gore and dismemberment like fallout. I'm a bit worried I watched the trailor and looked at the screenshots. I didn't even see a drop of blood this game better not be another final fantasy.

No, no it doesn't. Gore is not required for a great game. I'm more interested in an epic story with great game play.
