So, I searched "gears of war 3" and "gow 3" and got nothing. I don't know if my computer was just being wonky, but if there's already an open thread I apologize (and would like a link :3).

To anyone who doesn't know, the beta opens to everyone who pre-orders the game on Monday. I for one, cannot wait. Monday can't come fast enough.

And I love the new guns, I think they switch it up nicely. No more Gnasher only game-play, I can actually use a rifle now.

What do you guys think?

Also; if you guys would like, I could add a list of everyone who's in the beta / getting the game, so we know who to add for some games of Gears.

But yeah, my friends all used to be obsessed with Gears 1, and they'd get me to play it with them all the time. I liked it too, but they were literally obsessed, it got kind of annoying at times. But anyways, I'm interested to see what direction Epic takes Gears 3 in.

I'll probably buy it for the multiplayer later on. I kindof gave up on the singleplayer after the last game, which is a shame because the first one was so good.

I liked the first one for the singleplayer, and I like the second one for the multiplayer. I'm not really sure what to expect from this game, and I probably won't preorder it or buy it on release.

I am going to wait and see what kind of reviews it gets, and wait for the fan hype to pass over so I can get honest opinions about it before I decide to buy it or not.

Gears 3 is driving me mad for some reason i am just no good at it : / and that f-in sawed off is so cheap its unreal

Never was a huge fan of its online, its fun for a few rounds but if I go online its for co-op and horde.

Ehh, I thought the campaign for the first game was awful while the second one was a bit of an improvement (of course being better then awful doesn't mean it's amazing).

I don't know if i'll get GoW 3, maybe when it's less then $20. :shrug:

Huge fan of the series. Love both. I would've been playing the beta over break if I didn't have to send my Xbox back to Microsoft to get the RRoD repaired. At least its under warranty...

Was a big GoW2 player. Used to kill the whole team with no sweat, loved the online.

I may pre order the third just for the beta. Can't wait for its release though.

Well I found in the first game it seamed to have a really desperate atomsphere. Like activating the thingy in the cave. (Its been a while) It really made your team feel important, but the 2nd game kindof tossed that all away and started out with a 10,000 man raid, with very few ties with the first game. And you had to hear Dom [censored] about his wife. Also all the boss fights like the squid thingy and the dual chainsaw guy (once again, its been a while )was sripted which really had potential to be some really fun fights. It really made me lose faith in the series, cause it had so much potential. For a shoot 'em up game.

The GameStop commercial for it pisses me off. Then again, I find every GameStop commercial to be extremely unimaginative, highly sophomoric, and cringe inducing.

I played the living [censored] out of the first game, and I don't regret a single moment. With the second game, I wish I could have played it more often, but school took ever, and the people who I did play it with graduated.

I cant wait, the beta is out tomorrow for people who pre ordered the game. The Savage Locust look sick.

By the way, for those who aren't sure if the game will be good: I've been playing the beta since Monday (I got Bulletstorm, thus getting early beta access) and I have to say that this is currently my favorite multiplayer game.

Yeah, I'm sure once I get gibed a few times by it in a row I won't like the idea of it so much, but I like how it and the Retro stop the Gnasher from being everyone's "go to gun" for every fight now. That was my biggest problem with GoW 2, you'd spawn and immediately put away your rifle for your shotgun.

I unlocked Baird and the Savage Theron but it won't let me use them. It just reverts me to Marcus/Drone. Anyone know why?

You'll need to play a match or two, then go to the main menu and change it to them. The in-game character changes seem to be buggy at the moment.

I have tried several matches, as well as turning off the system. It is set to them at the main menu, but when I go into a game it reverts to Marcus/Drone. Even if I try to change it ingame, press b to get out of the puase menu, and go back into the menu, they are reverted.

I played around 10 matches and had a k/d of (.1)... I gave up. Sawed off is so dumb it's not even funny but I can't figure out how to use it well.

I really like the beta so far. It's so much better than the atrocity that was Gears of War 2 (at least when it was first released; the patches made it playable but I still don't like it). This is a lot more like majesty of the first one. I still think that the rifles are too powerful, or least the Retro Lancer is. I don't even mind the damage, but the stopping power is ridiculous on it. As soon as you get shot with it, you basically can't move. It's [censored]ing dumb. And the sawed off is way too cheap to be a spawn weapon. They need to make it a pick-up weapon. Other than that, I really like Gears of War 3, especially since I wasn't expecting much from it since I hated the second game.
