Actually, it would have been an Oblivion spin off on the PSP. The PSP isn't powerful enough for a full scale game like Oblivion.

As for TESV? Seriously doubt it.

Two Things...

This should be in TES general

Secondly, it will most likely be PS3, Xbox 360, and PC

PSP can handle a TES version, look at Crisis Core. Obviously a PSP can't handle the Oblivion now, a monkey can tell that.

2 things.....

Just report it and ask to be move.

It's not going to be TES V, but a TES version.

Why should it be in TES general?

This has to do with mobile TES games which would be the TES travels

By PS3 you mean PS4
And Xbox 360, Natal
For PC, You mean Virtual Simulator?

Probably that far away :P

TES V hasn't been announced so a handheld tie-in certainly hasn't been announced. :)

The PSP version of Oblivion was cancled, although a handheld version of Oblivion was made and released for cellphones. Given this I could see another TES Travels game released around the time as one of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls titles - either as a direct tie-in or a completely separate game working off the Elder Scrolls enthusiasm around a release.

TES handheld games have never been impressive-I cant see another being released..

I think another TES Travels game is very likely: Vir2L and id software have both released games for the iphone and many of the Bethesda developers have said they're fans of iphones - I think it's only a matter of time before they release an Elder Scrolls game for smartphones.

Vir2L continues to make games for the DS and more mundane cellphones and I wouldn't be surprised to see them do an Elder Scrolls game for one or both of these platforms. As for the PSP, it's possible Bethesda would license this out again and it's possible Vir2L would use TEST to break in to the PSP market.

I guess you never played http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/shadowkey_overview.htm then. For being an handheld game released in 2004, it's very impressive. The other Travels titles weren't nearly as impressive though, even Oblivion Mobile which was released 2 years later is a much weaker game.

Being funny?

Hmm ... let me think.

PS3 has 10 years lifecycle. New Xbox (not just upgraded design) will be according MS around 2014 or even later and Natal is not a standalone console, just a peripheral. PC means personal compuer so as long as there will be a person to use it, it stays that way, no matter what OS is running.

And to contribute to the topic: PSP is capable handling modern 3D engine after some adjustations and considering size of display, it could even look decent. But honestly while we would love to play complex games on handheld, majority of handheld owners are Ritalin addicted kids or casual gamers that do not give a rats ass about sandbox games on PSP. We are unfortunately freaky minority with specific gaming needs, so tough cookies I guess.

It may not be a full RPG, but as an RPG/Action/adventure in a Elder Scrolls like world you should check out Ravensword for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Very nice. When I first saw it I thought it WAS an Elder Scrolls title. I think it proves that one can have a very compelling ES world on a iPhone.

Wow, checked out the http://www.ravensword.com/ and it's very nice indeed :) Shame I have no intention of buying an iPhone/iPod Touch.

If you do though, I recommend it. :) Well worth the money compared to some stuff I've seen on the i-thingies.

Same here. This is why I'm glad those Travels games didn't seem that interesting: I don't feel I'm missing out because I don't want to buy a specific hand-held device.

That always tricky. I think the mobile stuff might be best for "adventure" style games. Small games set in the same world/time period as the current PC/Console versions. RavenSword was basically built by two guys with some artists brought in where needed. It looks amazing for the 7 months it took. Well worth the risk for Zenimax to try something with a small team.

Is it just me, or did mobile phone games jump from the NES era to Morrowind when I wasn't looking?

It's just you. :)

Look at Shadowkey on the Nokias (n-gage) release yonks ago.

A mobile 3D masterpiece in miniature!

Honest.

That sounds wholly honest to me. Maybe a bit biased or at least lacking an truly objective point of view, but still honest :D

What I want to know is why these big developers speand thousands of pounds/months developing some games, putting news up on the net and than cancel them without warning? Could you imagine the uproar if the next GTA game was hyped to [censored] only to be cancelled without any notice?
