The Tribunal, Nine Divines, and Daedric Princes?

That's because you've got to look at it in terms of gods and God. The aurbis is one big mind, the people of mundus can use their belief to sway that mind, a god is a large chunk of that mind, God is that mind. CHIM is being the people and God.

I think TES religion falls very closely to themes in eastern faiths. If you travel to India, the giant statues of Durga, Kali, Vishnu, look very much like the Daedric shrine statues of Morrowind.

Vivec is kind of like Buddha, being born as a Mortal, but sort of reaching godhood. Although, I don't think Buddha is a "deity" per se, but is holy and worthy of worship for his teachings.

I'd advise against such real life correlations; plenty of people could make plenty of assertions against your claims.

Well, that is what a forum is for.

My only concern would be that to single out specific faiths may turn the conversation to religion specifically, which is forbidden in these threads. However, my comparisons were fairly straightforward, Vivec and Buddha are both not technically gods (admitted to by their adherents, I am not denying or arguing the validity of either of their divinities) but they are worshiped and have a religious school of thought.

The way Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity, along with several other faiths (Jainism, Sikhism) exist in a melting pot around Southeast Asia is similar to how Aedra Worship, Daedra Worship, the Tribunal, and the Imperial Cult (some might add the 6th House) exist in Morrowind, as opposed to Cyrodill, where the 9 Divines and to a lesser extent Imperial Cult (not really mentioned in Oblivion) have a fairly secure grasp on the faith demographic, barring a few Daedric shrines.

*I also forgot Shiva in my list of Indian deities who's statues I believe to have directly influenced the design of Morrowind's shrines.

I always felt that mechanically, superficially if you will, religion in TES was rather eastern, but philosophically, it was rather western. All of that Aedra and Daedra being distinguished because they made a choice, CHIM being a highly individualistic and self-centered form of Nirvana.

But ultimately, I bow towards someone here (I think it was LadyNerevar) who said more or less that at what point in the blending and mixing of so many different ideas from RL does the TES world cease to be a rip off or inspired by 'X' and become its own separate world capable of its own things? But then again, I'm both attracted to and repulsed by the post-modern notions that everything has been done and that the only way to make something new is by recombining the old in new ways.

i don't want be long in this, very complicated, speculation. Simply my Pilgrim has a monotheistic creed (and probably in all Empire millions of people have some little creeds with flocks varying in size, and secrecy) and trust more the Daedra than IC or Tribunal.

I liked much to join some Daedra flock in MW, hope sooner or later that someone will make a mod about Daedra sites and joining them as follower.
