Why do Dunmer not have any resistance to disease?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:15 am

As far as i can see the Dunmer are the only pure elven race that have no disease resistance. Why is this? Did Azura magically nerf it at the same time as she cursing them and changing there appearence? Any insight is appreciated.

My guess it they used to have it, but the Blight and Ashstorms and their smoking problem reduced it.

In all respect to the devs, I doubt that the race bonuses are Lore based. Some might, but most are 100% gameplay thing.

Dark Elves don't have their physical attributes predetermined since birth. High Elves fashion society out of protection and preservation. Probably resistance to disease is an attribute to their resistance against mortality overall.

I wouldn't have thought the blight would have reduced it. Look at the Agonians. They have high resistances to disease and poisons which they gained because of there harsh enviroment.

It would be more likely that such an inhospitable enviroment with the blight wafting about ,would most likely strengthen there resistance to disease(survival of the fittest and all). But thats just my 2 cents.

Yeah, if you're a group of idiots who decide to settle in the blightest regions of Vvardenfell naked. Survival of the smartest, don't be in areas where blight is a problem or avoid blighted animals and plants.

As I said, high elven resistance to disease is probably born from the High Elven eugenics programs intended to create a perfect individual worthy to be called descendant of Auri-El. Provided all those rumors about High Elves are true.

Indeed.
And Wood Elves probably got theirs from their eating habits. The one who didn't have a good enough immune system probably died off a long time ago.
