Blurry body texture problem

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 2:16 am

I'm having a problem with my body textures that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I'm using HGEC and for some reason high-res body textures are showing up very blurry in game (I can't link to a picture, though I have one if someone needs to see it in order to help). The body mod installs fine and the textures look perfect in Nikskope, but for some reason in-game they look terrible. I was planning to do a reinstall anyway so I went ahead and started fresh and right now I have only HGEC + Ozmo's 4096x4096 high-res pack installed and it's still happening. Anyone have ideas what could be causing this?

Are you using BSA redirection? Do you have the game set on large textures?

Yep and yep. I have the Steam version and I redated all the BSA's using a file attribute changer to 8/1/2005. I enabled BSA-Redirection in Wrye Bash and have the game set to large textures through the options menu (is there somewhere else I should set this?).

Forgot to mention, I've also tried the F-INev Oblivion high res skin pack and the texture changes but it just changes to a blurry version of the new one.

And you're sure your GPU can handle 4096x4096 textures? I'm pretty sure my can't, but then it's four years old. :(

Top half, directly from the back, perhaps? :)

If you mean that... "that" kind of thing is the reason, of course. :D

It can but not well (ATI 4870 w/ 512mb). My intention is to use the 2048x2048 F-INev textures, just using the Ozmo super high res ones to help test. Same thing is happening when I use the default HGEC, F-INev, and Ozmo textures.

Well, hell, I fixed it. The ATI Catalyst Control Center has a setting for "Mipmap Quality" and it had somehow been set to High Performance. Switched it to High Quality and boom, all better. Argh.
