"We're bringing back the Morrowind adventure style"

I understand some of the complaints against OB, but I don't really fully agree with any of them, I think a lot of them are made by whiney MW [censored] or trolls just wanting to flame OB.

Go through the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild as an assassin character. Then go do the main quest. You'll HAVE to lower the difficulty to the minimum, even at Kvatch. The game balance is incredibly broken. I stopped playing countless of times my character because the game told me I had to be a warrior one who constantly level up his combat skills. But I am an assassin, I upgrade sneak, security, short blades, archery, alchemy. So the more I levelled up, the weaker I got. I'm wondering how I'll be able to get through the main quest and then Shivering Isles... And then add artifacts which aren't real artifacts, and other problems. There's a difference between not agreeing with someone, and ignoring game breaking flaws. Even Todd Howard admitted the level system wasn't ideal.

...or it's just a matter of taste. You have to accept that the game won't get an excellent note from everyone.

MW was my first ES game, and I love it. It is amazing. But, guess what? OB is amazing as well. I had a blast with it. It’s critical reception and sales reflect that it is a really good game. In fact, It was so good that it won about ten or twelve (i think) GOTY awards.

I love both games. MW will always be special to me for introducing me to ES. But there is no denying that OB is excellent. Those of you who do are being unfair and are in the minority. Most people love OB.

No disrespect intended.

It works both ways with Morrowind and Oblivion. Some people hate on one and sing the praises of the other. This is something that's not worth taking notice of really. Logorouge puts it well I think. Just watch when Skyrim comes out in November, there will be people whinging about that too.

The single fact that there is a fifth Elder Scrolls coming soon makes me happy, its just a bonus that they're bringing some of the ideas that have been proved to have worked in the past with Morrowind. It shows promise as I'm sure they're bringing plenty of positive ideas and successful concepts that came from the development of their other titles such as Oblivion! I think It's a smart move by Bethesda. It makes me think of "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" :)

Uhm tried using illusion with invisibility, chameleon and paralyze-spells combined with sneak attacks and poisoned blades ? works for my sneaks most of the time, that and a high athletics and speed ;)

Other than that I love both games with an added soft spot for MW just because it is something with that game,Shivering Isles has something of the same imho.
For oblivion nowadays I still do mages guild,db and thieves guild with my characters, and the daedric quests, haven′t done the main quest in ages, nothing wrong with it but I don′t want to open up all those gates everywhere until I′m ready for it,and never quite ready for it in recent times.

to the point then, good if they manage to transfer some of MW feel and style to Skyrim, they did it somewhat with S-I.

That's quite a bit for one enemy. Plus, even with my sneak attacks, I needed to shoot like 15 (no kidding) arrows to kill ONE enemy out of 10-15 in Kvatch. It was unbearable in the end. And I still need to shoot 5+ arrows in order to kill anything at the lowest difficulty.

I think that the statement means that we are going have a more vertical world with unique and different areas.

vanilla or unmodded it is a bit unbalanced, agree there :)
put a mod from spooky in my OB,combat archery, that solves some of it,meaning you can take out ogres with a few arrows+poison, more like 5 arrows instead of 15 or 25,that with diffulty in the middle.
Morrowind has more realistic damages imho, still loves my zooming in oblivion, and mods fixes the rest.

To add, items are not leveled. You could somehow stumble onto a piece of daedric armor (really rare and heavy, but has the most defense and durability) or artifact, which was always a pleasant surprise. Also, I doubt there will be map markers, as hinted by NPCs giving you directions and sometimes acting as your guide.

If you have played FO3, think that. It's similar enough to get the general idea.

Don't lie to me! This has to be the greatest news! I am more concerned with permanently screwing up the game by trying out quests at a low level than even monsters leveling to you (my 2nd least favorite thing about Oblivion)
