The most epic mods in the elderscrolls history.

1. Nehrim - At Fate's Edge.
A team of twelve guys spent four years in creating this immense overhaul mod before they released it to he public for free. With all the video intro and menu, new graphic options, a self-updated installer, deep lore history, self-composed music, hand crafted weapons, landscape and characters that had 5x times more voice actors than the voice cast of Oblivion itself.

2. The Morrowind multiplayer mod.
Never got someone else to play with me since the public servers were empty at the time.
But for someone to even think about making a mod like this into reality... and then go on making it reality, is insanity. Yes the mod was highly unstable and buggy, you could only stay in one cell at the time, and only offered some easy trade and combat options, nevertheless - it is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen done in any game modding community up to date.

3. Morrowind Overhaul.
These modders made the game more beautiful than the game developers themselves managed to make it. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me!

4. [snip].

What's your list?

The imperials have no power over me, I along with my brother Fargoth will deduct a plan for an uprising and retract into the forest for further gatherings.

Pretty much the perfect dungeon mod. I always agreed when people said "Oblivion just can't be scary" until I played this mod. Not only is it very unnerving and stressful, but it's a fantastic puzzle dungeon mod with all kinds of rewarding secrets. The trailer does not begin to do it justice, nor do I.

I played Nehrim for a couple of hours and I had trouble getting into it. I hear people compliment it all the time. Does the story become really compelling?

Yeeah the storyline is beyond any major games I've played so far, it takes a lot of turns and doesn't fall into a category of predictability. That is probably the element I ejoyed the most of this whole thing.

It's the most impressive gig of it's kind I've seen around and I have 20+ years of video game junkie experience laying around in my backpack.

Morrowind Overhaul is a compilation of other people's mods, I wouldn't call it a mod on its own.

And what about Tamriel Rebuilt?!!

This, for sure.

Does the Morrowind Code Patch count as a mod? Because that's one of the greatest things that ever happened to Morrowind. Save game corruption/crash fixes, extended world map, unarmored fix, all those other fixes...

For companion mods, Julan Ashlander Companion for Morrowind and Companion Vilja for Oblivion (Emma's Morrowind companions too) are fantastic.

And of course the LGNPC Series for Morrowind.

Also MMM and OOO for Oblivion. And Nehrim as mentioned in the OP.

Yes and I wouldn't consider it a mod in the first place.

I think you can call it a mod, because it change the vanilla version of Morrowind but MGE is also a mod imo.

Definitely epic for any companion fan out there. :tes:

Just curious, but why is talking about the morroblivion mod not allowed on these forums?

I suggest that you contact a moderator in this case Hungry Donner and ask him why it's not allowed here, but since you already bring it up I can tell why and it's because of this I think. :)

Pete said:
Recently there have been a number of posts concerning Morrowind Mods and people using assets from other games, in whole or in part.

We do not and will not get involved in the policing of the Morrowind Mod community. However, in no way, shape, or form can we allow people to talk about taking copyrighted and proprietary materials from other games and using them for mods for Morrowind.

Any threads discussing using models or assets from other games in Morrowind Mods are going to be locked, no questions asked. As a software developer and publisher, we don't have the luxury of looking the other way on this. Sorry.

We certainly don't want anyone using the work we've done on Morrowind in mods for other games, so we have our part when it comes to other games. Please stop using assets from other products for Morrowind mods, and please do not use any assets from Morrowind for projects in other games.

Thanks for your understanding.

Great picks!

I don't want this thread to break down in a discussion of what the abridgement of a mod constitutes.
In essence, Tamriel Rebuilt(TR) is a 'mod'(mod is a universal abbreviation for 'modification'. Thus modding stands for 'modifying', and 'modders' are 'modifiers')

I see what you're saying about Morrowind Overhaul but technically it's still a mod since it's a collection of smaller mods worked together and distributed in a larger package. It can't be anything else than a modification of the game.
