arena - guests

Hello

I'm new to the elder scroll games. I enjoyed playing gothic (1 and 2), and found out that morrowind is similar. But when I saw that morrowind is third in the serie I want to start at beginning, so now I'm playing arena.

When I came out of prison I have been placed in skyrim. So, my question is: is there any point to go in every village and town (about 20 all together) in skyrim ? Quests which I get are bring me this, escort my mother there etc. it's started to get boring. Now i am at 7th level, is this good enough to starting to chase the story line ?

And where are places where I could get some decent weapons ? Are dungeons better places to look for good weapons or I just buy them in stores? I am knight and I have longsword 3-17 which I got in prison and I am still using it. Which is most efficient weapon ?

Regards

One, apart from earning fame and money, there no real point to doing alot of the quests. You may enjoy some of the royal quests which tend to pay thousands and have dungeon dives and delievery jobs.

You should properly start the MQ now, do some of it then go and level a bit more.
.

What are you playing as? if you can used plate then certain shops have got ebony for sale (if you get lucky and find one), but at your level there not going to turn up in dungeons yet.

Nope

Oh yeah. I think the first time I played Arena, I went pretty much straight from the imperial prison to the first quest dungeon. Stopping only long enough to find out where to go. Let me tell you something, Fang Lair is EXTREMELY difficult at level 3(or 4 or whatever it is, I don't remember), especially when you don't have any potions, and don't know where your going, or what to expect.

You could try going after some of the artifact weapons. IIRC, you have to ask people on the street about general rumours until they mention an artifact, and basically just follow it from there.

An elven longsword is a pretty good weapon, although there are lots better. It can be tedious to go from town to town checking stores, although you will eventually definitely improve your ordnance. IMO you'll have more fun doing the MQ and keeping the best of what you find.

If you're in a mood to make things immensely easier for yourself, you could check the UESP Wiki and find a good weapon and good armor from the lists.

Everything else posted above is true, except that I would add that Fang Lair is actually not the first MQ dungeon; Stonekeep is, and it is somewhat easier than Fang Lair.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Stonekeep. That's the dungeon I was referring to in my above post, I just got the names wrong

I am playing as a knight norder.

I got a guest about Chrysamere, people are also talking about Staff of Magnus and Ring of Phynaster, but nobody contacted me yet (probably beacuse i am THE knight :)).

I think you're only able to have one artifact quest active at a time.

All artifact quests have the same arc, so nobody will exactly "contact" you. You get told about a guy in a bar who knows something, you track him down, etc.

Absolutely true. And in fact if you even have an artifact in your inventory, you will not be able to get another artifact quest. (This does not, however, prevent you from obtaining and having in your inventory any number of artifacts. I will leave this puzzle as an exercise for the reader.)

Is this somehow connected with leaving artifact at some smithy (=store) ?
