Demographics: What Was Your First TES Game?

My first, and only, was Oblivion. My boyfriend bought it and I tried it and was hooked, I can honestly say I had NO idea there were other games, that it was a series.

Now I see why there are so many Morrowind fans who hate Oblivion on these forums. Most started out with Morrowind and expected Oblivion to be just like it, bashing Oblivion when it wasn't.

Indeed - that's one of the purposes of this poll, another being to prove that "newer" players outnumber the "older" generation of TES players and that many polls that compare Daggerfall with other games are unfair simply because many will vote for their preferred choice without having played Daggerfall itself.

I played Morrowind first. Then Daggerfall and Arena and then Oblivion. I loved Morrowind but enjoy Oblivion equally as well and better in some ways. I think mostly I enjoyed the NPCs not being static in Oblivion. Having schedules and chatting with one another gave it a life that Morrowind's static NPCs just didn't have. But then there were other aspects I can say I like better in Morrowind. They each have bits I love and bits I just don't like. What bothered me most in Oblivion was not having any requirements for advancement in guilds and the scaled loot. While I liked leveled scaling for many reasons, I did not like high level loot becoming common place.

My TES Life started with Daggerfall, then Morrowind, then Oblivion. Each of these games have pros and cons, but starting with Morrowind, with the possibility of creating mods and the unbelievably creative community both of the latter games have, I cannot tell wether I like Oblivion or Morrowind more. Of course, Morrowind-like style of place-centric experience is much closer to my heart, but - that's why OOO and such mods are here... Voiced dialogue? No, using MUTE, so only the first greeting is voiced (like in Morrowind). Guild requirements? Mod-added. And so on. But - it's still Oblivion, although heavily moded. And I think, both Oblivion and Morrowind, are by at least 60 % made by mods...

I played Oblivion first, then I played Morrowind. But I still haven't played the others. I like Oblivion still as its gameplay is improved but Morrowind had a better story so im sort of in the middle.

Started with Oblivion, I fell in love. Then I bought Morrowind GOTy, installed, it, got as far as Balmora. Then i got a virus, everything had to be wiped. Now Morrowind is buggered, I deleted it but it is still there, confusing.
