Your Computer Security Setup.

MS Security Essentials, Malwarebytes and Spyware Blaster on W7.

I was using Norton's but declined to renew the subscription (I got it cheap when I bought a new PC last year), not least because I was fed up of having to wait about 10 minutes when I booted up for it to finish its scan and let me actually do anything!

A colleague at work was having problems with his home PC and thought he may have a virus (he wasn't using any AV software). He ran a virus & malware checker and was informed there were a few thousand suspect files!

I also sorted out a friend's PC a few years ago, and that had shedloads of malware on it!

I'm not really sure how that would constitute console or brand bashing, as he was simply stating his opinion. An opinion which I happen to share.

And if anyone's true maturity is showing, it would have to be yours, considering you just went all "herp derp" on him, which is basically calling him an idiot. Also, don't backseat moderate, it gets annoying and if the moderators have a problem with a specific post then they will delete it. They are the professionals after all. :)

Calling someone a "fool" because they use a certain product you dislike isn't bashing..? What planet are you from?

Why would I let you know?

Would you let some random person on the internet know your security measures to your house? :)

Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes, common sense and caution. :)

Exactly this, minus the caution... I'm working on that.

You turned of auto update so they couldn't patch it on your computer and fix the security problem? There is something wrong with this picture...

I personally use the Business Edition of NOD32 Smart Security. It doesn't cost me anything so it's all good.
