What is your favourite city in MW or OB?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:27 pm

I'm adding Raven Rock to the poll since now I think about it, it's pretty big, almost as big as an OB city, so I think it can count. Sorry if you wanted to vote for it but already put other, but if you haven't, it's available now.

Anyway, these have been interesting listening to so far. Keep posting! Though it's pretty clear Balmora is the general favourite. I quite like it, despite not having played much Morrowind yet.

I hope to see Skyrim cities surpass cities like Balmora and New Sheoth, though. New Sheoth is my favourite BTW.

Yeah, it's not too popular. Someone on the previous page gavea bitof an explanation as to what was underwhelming about Bravil.

It was sooooooooooo big . I love the workshops and shops. I love jobashas bookstore and the blackshalk cournerclub.

Caldera first and foremost, it was just close enough to Balmora to be a quick run down the road to the Mages guild but the old European houses and castle keep were awesome. Also, the little goblin fella with 5k gold was there so I could hawk my loot.

My second favourite place in the game was my house HIaalu plantation/homestead. After I got it for PC, I downloaded a Castle keep which was on the road to Suran, which took over as my residence for a new toon. Man I loved that game, I really need a new PC.

Hard not to believe supposedly a trash heap, But there are good things chapel of Mara and only the imperials seem to put racism in the subject. That said its still a place to live. Now what if it was a Lilmoth vs Bravil?

I don't understand :/

Several things in that post I feel like I'm reading out of context.

Ive read the Infernal city and have an image of lilmoth in my mind.
Its like Detriot's inner citys. outside of it has wealthy imperials in its suberbs.

Well, the poll really is reffering to how you see the cities in the games. A slum city can be good, not necessarily as a nice place to live, but it can be presented in a way that is imaginative, immersive, sets a mood, feels alive, looks impressive and so on. I think that's the problem some people had with Bravil. It didn't really do that.

For the amount of time I spent in it, Anvil. Only city in Oblivion that looked out to sea, and the only one where you could watch them nice sunsets. All the other cities
I rushed through and tried to meet its people as quickly as possible but in Anvil, I took my time and explored more throughly.

I'll be starting Tribunal on my latest Morrowind char soon, so I'll check out Mournhold then, in the glory of Morrowind Overall Mod.

Chorrol is my favourite. The Great Oak is a great symbol, it's a small city wich means close to every shop and the cathedral, friendly NPCs and nice quests! ;D

Kvatch I didn't count because can you really count a city that's burned to the ground and only has 2 buildings you can even enter? I like Leyawiin also. It's well layed out, has nice architecture, doesn't feel too small and it's cool how the poor district is around that lake. Also not far from a number of settlements, more than the other cities.
