[Relz] NazoX9's Liches V2.0

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:52 pm

I requested that the old thread be locked, as this is such a huge change from version 1.2 that I think it deserves a new thread. After a lot of discussion on the forums, and a lot of time and thought put into the spells, I've completely redone the lich mod from the ground up. New spells, new liches, new staves, basically a whole new mod. I've effectively doubled the size of the last one.

I would really really appreciate feedback on this. I'm hoping that this mod will provide a challenge, but balancing out level 50, and 75 creatures can prove to be quite difficult. If you play with this, please let me know how the liches are. Also, I forgot to mention it in the readme, but they will also spawn in the appropriate leveled lists. Liches are no longer only in the sewers of Mournhold. I find integrating them into the game very important.

============================================== NazoX9's Undead: Liches Version 2.0 By:NazoX9==============================================INDEX:-> Requirements-> About this mod-> Installation-> Known Bugs & Issues-> Version History-> Contact Info==============================================REQUIREMENTS:==============================================Requires Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon==============================================ABOUT THIS MOD:===============================================A complete overhaul to my Lich mod.Changes liches in a drastic way. Why were thesepowerful necromancers walking around with asword and shield, and casting simple shockspells? Well now the lich carries a randomlyenchanted staff, is armed with better spells, and will summon undead to fight for it.There are also more varieties of the lich. You'll encounter nether liches, lesser liches, liches, and ancient liches as you progressthrough the game. Each has am arsenal of spells,as well as it's own set of staves that it canbe carrying. Hopefully the spells I've giventhem will change that every fight in this gameis a standard hack and slash.Watch out as well, should you encounter anancient lich, they pack an extra surprisewhen killed.===============================================INSTALLATION:===============================================Extract the files into your data files folder, and enable it.IF you want to use the optional new lich model, just put the meshes folder inside in your datafiles folder as well. (Adds a bottom jaw)===============================================KNOWN ISSUES OR BUGS:===============================================No known issues or bugs.===============================================Version History:===============================================2.0 Completely redone mod. Adds new varieties, increases stats, levels, etc.. of the existingvarieties. Redone spells, and gives each typeof lich it's own leveled list of staves.1.2 Fixed a little issue where the ancientliches wouldn't hold the staffs.Gave a few new spells.Added the liches to some vanilla leveled lists.1.0 Made 3 different kinds of liches, randomenchanted staffs, more spells, etc..Changed all static lich spawns to a leveledlist that will spawn one of the three lichesdepending on player level. Also, added the other 2 liches to base gameleveled lists that had liches in them.===============================================Contact Info:===============================================NazoX9 at beth forums.NazoX9@gmail.com

Thanks for the release! Seems like a lot of consideration have gone into this. Looking forward to meeting them, although it might take a while as I'm just starting a new char. I'll get back with feedback later.

Some nitpicking advice: I'd recommend filling up the author and description fields for the esp. Also, name the readme something else then just "readme". Personally, I like the "espname_readme" format as it will be easy to find then, so "NX9_liches_readme" in this case.

Looks great! My favorite looking ones are the Netherlich, the one in Lich2.jpg and the Ancientlich. For some reason, the last one kinda looks funny. But that's just me.

I get this warning when loading a save with NazoX9's Liches V2.0:

Unable to locate object 'NX9_netherstaff_06' in Leveled Item 'NX9_Rndm_netherstaff'.

Eh, thought deleting it would remove it from the leveled list. I'll take care of it.

Edit: Interestingly enough, when I load up my esp that staff isn't in the leveled list anymore. :\ I know I didn't delete it from the list, so perhaps it just needed to be loaded in the CS one more time. If I can get confirmation on that, I can make a quick release without the error.

Anything you set to ignore in the 'Details...' window of CS will not get loaded for that edit session. You then have to resave the mod to completely delete the ignored object/reference from the plugin.

I wonder if it's the save then. Perhaps it's cause your game is still looking for that staff in the leveled list, even though it's not there.

It's a clean save. I thought it might have been because I previously had the earlier version of Liches, so I made sure to load w/o it checked, resaved and then cleaned it with Wrye.

EDIT: Also, I get the warning when initializing the game so it shouldn't be caused by a save in the first place.

Alright well I've gone in, and just remade NX9_netherstaff_06 and added it to the leveled list, so it should get rid of the error for anyone that's having it.

They look well done, however I think if I was a mage becoming a Lich wouldn't be appealing if so much of me was to fall off. :D

Thank you. Anyone have any feedback on the difficulty of the fights? Too hard, too easy, just right? Anything would be wonderful for getting this well balanced.
