So I'm Working on this Big Mod Project...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:33 pm

It's called Falcor, it's a war torn place with Deadra and Barbarians.
I'm currently making a city with a wealthy region and a poor region, and inbetween is the castle, which you get to by a bridge.

I'm pretty much a noob at programming any type of AI, lip syncing, ect, and my friend just ditched me on the whole project. But I'm pretty good with landscape and interior designing (One of the best Far Cry 2 Map Makers), but I'm looking for some experienced people with the editor to help me. I plan on working on this project for months, maybe even a year (Halo Reach and Gears of War 3 are going to slow me down, yes, I'm a console gaming nub), but if you're interested in helping or getting updates on this, please go to my poorly made website I just made.

First thing to do is look at the modding tutorials...there are plenty of them.

http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page is indispensable. You'll find that most of what you're uncertain about is covered there.

Get http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11536, which allows lower-level editing than the CS; it's great for repetitive tasks, cleaning unintentional edits, and comparison between mods.

Is there any easy programs to merge mods? I have at least 5 different plug-ins for this mod, and I really want just one.

Use TES4Edit to remove the duplicates made by TES4Gecko.

double click the app, choose the plugins you want from the list, select all the duplicated items(usually have an X beside them), select them, right click, choose delete/remove whatever it is. itll then give you a warning whether you want to this or not, choose yes continue.there ya go. make a back up before you do though.

Ya, that still didnt really do anything for me, but thanks for trying. I merged most of the files through gecko, but some are still missing. I think I'll have to restart it :/.

You should remove duplicate references before merging (Gecko does this through the Display/Copy function). If you have five separate esps editing the same stuff you're almost certainly going to have trouble merging everything neatly. I'd make one esm and merge the others on top of it.

Ya, that sounds about right. So should I just make the land, save it as an esm, then add onto it with esps? or will I encounter the same problems?
