Daggerfall Limited Edition

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:52 pm

As described as a preorder offer:

You can no longer order the DAGGERFALL Limited Edition. However, for those collector types you are prepared to buy it off someone else, here is how it differs from the regular edition:
- serialized limited edition of 10,000 copies
- a Limited Edition DAGGERFALL T-Shirt (100% cotton) Features the DAGGERFALL Box Cover design on a black background
- a "World of Tamriel" mousepad
- a Limited Edition DAGGERFALL poster

Also, the Daggerfall letter opener?

Ahh I'm afraid I don't have but I remember seeing the ad in a magazine.
The limited edition's content must be kept in a secret museum somewhere, guarded by a spirit crying for vengeance. :P

The letter opener, there's that rumor that there might be one at Bethesda's headquarters... if it survived the move they did some years ago.

I once had that t-shirt back in high school. One of my friends tried to burn it with his lighter because he thought it was gae (can't spell it the other way). Pretty funny, though. I think I might still have it in storage somewhere. sigh... good ole daggerfall. Such a big part of my youth.

I've seen the t-shirt on ebay a couple of times and I have one of the mousepads. as for the letter opener I don't think it was included but there are two known to exist. one in bethesda's office and antoher in the possesion of mark jones the artist for daggerfall. I've never seen teh box or the poster.

From what I've seen over the years, there was no "limited edition" per se, more like a "collector's pack". The box was just a regular holographic one (at the front at least) and the mousepad was the same as the one included with Arena Deluxe. It also had the black t-shirt like you described (I got it!) AND a loose pewter figurine of Lysandus (the guy on the box cover). Have never seen the poster, but I guess it exists.

I never knew about the figure! I figured that was what the purpose of the letter opener was for. Is he still in your possession?

No, I never had it - I just saw a couple of photos of it around 5-6 years ago and read about it in some leaflet :) I'll take a look if I might have those photos saved somewhere. I only got the t-shirt, bought it off ebay in a pack with the box and Daggerfall Chronicles quite a while ago.

As far as I know the letter opener was just a promo item created by Daggerfall's European publisher Virgin. Though if it was some kind of an exclusive for press folks or given out at a contest of sorts is unknown to me.

UPD: Found the pics of the figurine deep in the forgotten corners of the HDD

Ahh it looks great. He would look good next to Morrowind's Ordinator figurine. :)

Or using it in a war game, or DnD battle. :P

I did some more archive digging and I guess I was wrong about the figurine being part of the Limited Edition. It might have just been a pre-order item or something.
