Will there be fat people in Skyrim?

With all the dragon souls I'm eating, I should be fat.

Yes, who's eating who?

This was one of the few thing(very minor things) that if I had to pick were a disappointment in the trailer, I saw no heavy set people. All lean and similar like other Beth games.

Why would there be fat people? Food is likely not abundant, they have very active lives, their food is not loaded with excessive fats, etc. I mean it may make sense for very high ranked individuals to have some fluff, but the average joe shouldn't be fat.

I really, really don't care. As far as I'm concerned, it's a useless feature.

Just a bit more diversity as far as circumference and height goes?

In oblivion everyone was really fit yet i never seen anyone doing laps around the city gates

I hope not.

I wonder how much obesity there was before fast/overly processed food...

Having in mind that in the Middle Ages nobles used to eat roasted meat for breakfast....and that not eating meat 5 times at a day was considered "not manly"...(true facts).

Don't think that obesity is a modern issue, because it isn't by far.

different size ppl would be a good addition but if u could make ur character fat then u should have penilties to it like stealth shouldn't work for u and running should be slower etc....

Rich gamers that aren't fat might be offended by that.

So many people wanting fat people.

Don't you get tired of seeing them in USA? :D

Buuut, the option would be great anyway imo.

I've traveled all over the US, and i have to say it seemed like 80% of all fat people lived South of the Mason-dixon line. The North seemed much skinnier than many other countries who share similar life-style qualities. I would say maybe 1 in 10 had been fat, but that was just my observation.

anyways i say let the fatties have their day!

No. It's just going to be abused, namely they'll make the selfish merchant fat and the friendly dairymaid fat. Clichés. :banghead:

As a Northern United States-er (and person who likes to improvise with words :P), I can say I really don't see many fat people around here. In my town, I know many people who go for healthier choices and, while this isn't quite as common in my small town, in a nearby town I find plenty of healthy food choices with plenty of variety. Me, my brothers, and my wealthy (some of you people claiming the rich should be fat know why I'm staring :stare:) mother do not enjoy fast food. My favorite foods consists of zucchini, spinach, feta cheese (Greek place in a nearby town makes some really good spanakopita :liplick: ), fish, fruits (I like plums, graqes, watermelons, mangos, bananas, peaches, persimmons, or pretty much anything else fruity), chicken, graqe leaves, curry, some seemingly healthy food based on the culture in which my parents grew up in (stuffed zucchini, stuffed graqe leaves, spinach dishes, hummus, and a treat of dates included near the top of my favorites list), and some other stuff that I just happen to find tasty, yet luckily healthy. I won't eat salad, but I'm not a fan of fast food, steaks (too much grizzle), cheeseburgers, or anything fatty/smothered in oil/deep fried. For being raised by a mother who certainly counts as rich and for being an American, I most certainly am not fat nor are many people I know around here. Fat people are pretty scarce up here where I live and the nearby town feels like a cultural melting pot full of various food choices among which healthy ones seem pretty popular. Don't you just hate stereotypes?

I read somewhere in the lore that the Nords kill fat people at birth, so I can't really see it happening.

LOL "You don't choose to be fat, you are born fat!"

Anyway, variation is good... The count oughtn't be some skinny guy (unless of course it's part of who he is, but assuming we are talking stereotypes). Or the Bierfrau at the inn! Gots to have some meat on them bones..

I hope so. It would be nice to see, for example, fat barkeeper :)
Its ad more variety to game.

i wasnt thinking that skyrim should become the land of the fatties with a skinny person here and there.

and they dont necessarily need to be exactly fat, just a bit chubby, just some diversity as far as body types go. in oblivion the difference was only between races, but members of the same race all had the same body. it doesnt feel real.

not all of them have active lives, merchants should stand behind the counter all day.

you must have neever been to a really cold part of the world, im pretty sure their food IS loaded with excessive fats. thats how people live in cold climates/mountains, fat keeps you warm

If you could play an obese character yourself, I'd think you'd get more dragon love too. :liplick:

I sure hope so that the game has fat body types so I don't have to mod again to be able to play a fat character. :D

I hope there will be different body sizes in Skyrim, doesn't make sense for everyone in the world to be that fit. However, considering the dangers one has to face along the roads of Tamriel, they would have to be that fit to survive a trip to a neighbouring city.

They're not saying that rich people are fat now(around here it is usually the other way around),the wealthy merchants back then that used to be fat. They ate A LOT and had no concerns with their weight, actually some of the older generations consider fat people healthier.

Back on-topic:I doubt we'll be seeing any morbidly obese people (technical limitations more than anything) but I am hoping for chubby characters. The lack of diversity bugged me in OB and MW!(6 pack in a beggar? not bad)
