Possible Load Order Issue

Yup, Win7 too. If you have the game installed to a custom folder (i.e., C:\Games) you can get around most of the related issues.

I'm just going to uninstall and reinstall. >.> It's really annoying jumping through all these hoops just to play a game.

Scratch that. I'm going to delete the entire damn folder.

EDIT:
Thanks for the help, but it was too much hassle. I've saved most of my mods in zip/etc form so I can easily re-install them.

Thanks again, but I'm giving up on it. Reinstallation seems easiest for me now.

Uninstall and reinstall the game to the custom folder. You need to clear the registry, which is the point of the uninstallation part. The game is worth it, especially modified, seriously. This game is long-lasting. We are caught in the 32-bit to 64-bit transition. These problems are all over the place with differing driver support and all that. They (gamesas) could not predict the Vista/UAC disaster. Plus, mod usage is largely "unofficial," so the lack of installation specifics is understandable. However, at least, there is a great community here for spreading the information.

My computer is now 19.5 Gb lighter. Will install to a games folder somewhere. Concerning the mods I was using, any recommendation for the order I activate/install them?

If you just want to play a game, I've heard vanilla Oblivion is... quite good. :whistling:

Modded Oblivion can be fantastic, but the "game" inbetween - installing, troubleshooting, etc can really rip your knitting. If you haven't already I recommend BAIN installation next time round, not really difficult once you make the leap, and so very much better in the long run.

Step back and remember we're all in the same boat. On the upside, with a properly installed Oblivion and BAIN the next install could be your last!

Good luck :foodndrink:

Absolutely.

Also, a BAIN package list serves as an installation order. I have my old list posted. That way you can see specific mods' install order relative to various other mods.

Ok. Got everything reinstalled and am having no more Vista "ownership" issues. The problem I'm now having is with Bananasplit's Better Cities mod. I'm seeing the note in the Imperial City that tells me I have a Load Order Issue, but I cannot make the requisite changes. (Also am having issues with the "castello_gotico" mod, but that's another story.)

Screenshots:
World Map. Notice the issue?
