Wouldn't It Look Weird?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:26 pm

Replace that badass Nord in the trailer with a beast race or even like a Bosmer and wouldn't it look weird seeing them in an epic fight against that dragon? I don't know I was just thinking that. Maybe it's because all we've seen is a male human as the protagonist in all the media so far?

I thought the same thing myself. Replace that Nord with a female Bosmer or Altmer and it would look out of place.

dont know about khajiit, cus they look good as mages with robes and such, and i can see that fit in the trailer, the nord could be replaced by a mage khajiit, but argonian would look pretty stupid imo.
BUT: we dont even know how the beast characters look, so they might just fit as good as the nord :)

It's because you only have the picture of how they looked in Oblivion. Wait until you see how the other races look in the new engine.

It could be, but that's just the Elder Scrolls and it's awesome ability to allow players to be something other than the default race. It's weird having Saint Nerevar reincarnate as an Orc, and it's weird having a Bosmer save Cyrodiil, but it's not impossible, and it allows us to play as the race we want.

That said, recently I have taken to creating mostly Dunmer characters for Morrowind, Imperial characters for Oblivion and I am planning to create a Nord character for Skyrim. However, my first character in Morrowind was an Orc, and my first character in Oblivion was a Nord.

1. The armour always adjusts to your character's gender.
2. How likely are we to be using that starting armour?I mean it's like asking what percentage of people play through the entirety of a Fallout game and wear the vault suit while doing it all. A very marginal percentage that's what.

No, it wouldn't be weird in the world of The Elder Scrolls.

Edit: This is fantasy where anything can happen that to you may seem like out of place when it's not. It's just something that you're not used to.

With the new character creation system you get to edit not only the face but the body, Beast races that look stockier would look amazing as fighters. Iksar are the Lizard race and kerra are the feline race in EQ2 and they look great as fighters. as for Altmer they are a lot like high elves in lord of the rings, at the battle of the start the fellowship Elrond Looks Pretty Damn heroic in his armor.

So no I think they will look fine! :D

Mass appeal. That's all.

I personally would love to see a Argonian going toe to toe with a dragon fire shout vs fire shout.

Don't be so speciesist.
