During part of the Battlespire storyline you have to release Jaciel Morgen from her entrapment in a dreamsleeve by speaking the Nocturnal's name. Is this enchantment related to the dreamsleeve stuff that is usually talked about on this forum?
Ok. But how? Is it an actual place? And shouldn't she be destroyed or something?
Since its called a dreamsleeve, you should first picture a dreamer. Now, think about the mind of the dreamer dividing itself up into the different actors within the dream, afterall no good dream only has one character. Now think about the characters in that world and the implications of their relation to the dreamer's mind. In truth, they all share the same mind, but they don't know it. There are two implications of this. The first implication is that since everybody shares the same mind if somebody knows how they can simply send thoughts from one person to the next regardless of distance, because in truth they're really talking with theirselves. The second implication is that when somebody dies they simply drift back into the mind of the dreamer to be recycled (unless something is keeping them attached to the world).
Now, since we're talking about the mind it doesn't have any corporeal form or literal location. If you'll notice when Jaciel was trapped in the enchantment of the dreamsleeve, she hadn't actually gone anywhere - invoking the power of the Nocturnals was more like giving somebody that's hypnotized the right cue to wake up than it was calling her back from some far off place. As the context says she was "awaking" from where she had 'faded into the smallest part of her soul'. Her soul was still anchored to her body and her soul is daedric to boot, so no she shouldn't have been destroyed.
Yes, though it's no longer much a topic of discussion, souls can be seen as a connection between a body and something else. The Dreamsleeve is this other thing.
I don't see why the two should be unrelated.
