Uriel Septim

In every single game he looks and sounds different. We all know the real-world reason for this, but is there a lore reason behind Uriel Septim's tranformations?

TES2: Male pattern baldness
TES4: Rogaine

Arena: Young spiffy guy with hair
Daggerfall: King Lysandus' ghost scared most of it off
Morrowind: He spends two or three years looking for a good wig.
Oblivion: He dies while wearing said wig.

Puberty affects Imperials at such a wildly different rate, that... I don't know. :/

He obviously used the dander of a troll heifer, crushed to a paste, and applied that to his scalp. Lather up! Pregnant women should not use this treatment for hair regeneration, as it may result in three-eyed babies.

It is almost certainly one of these two. I'm at a loss for which.

I have to play with a mod that makes Uriel look like Patrick Stewart.

You're missing the important parts. He spent the several years of his life locked in a pocket realm. When he came out, it was like he had been on chemo.

We didn't actually see him in Morrowind, did we? Was he in the art somewhere?

We had no visuals of Uriel at all in MW. He was only relevant in that he put you on the boat and made you a blades. From there, he ceases to matter.

Well, there is all that blather about the succession crisis and legions getting recalled--but the Oblivion Crisis sort of made that immaterial.

But yes, it's as I thought.

EDIT: Although when Dagoth Ur asked me why I fought him, I told him it's because the Emperor told me too. Nerevarine Smerevarine.

Heh heh. I had forgotten what a spitfire that false godling was. I suddenly have an image of Dagoth Ur as some communist revolutionary... except the *red* dragon is the Septim symbol, so he might have some trouble there.

It's amusing how every "side" in Morrowind--viz, the Empire, the Temple, the Ashlanders, the Sixth House--hates each other, but in the end despite everything 'ol Uriel gets what he wants. The Temple is broken, the Sixth House is gone, and the Ashlanders... well, they're still around but nobody cares.

Clever guy, that emperor. Clever til the last.

As far as I am concerned Lord Voryn Dagoth (Dagoth Ur), just had a little too much skooma, a little too much power, and a lot of misunderstanding... To be honest I really like Lord Voryn Dagoth, he is a very interesting fellow, along with his ash vampire kin.

Arena: Young spiffy guy with hair

Morrowind: He spends two or three years looking for a good wig.
Oblivion: He dies while wearing said wig.

Basically this. Ocato seems to have done some neat things with his hair, too. Oh, and the Emperor must've been a big DnD fan back in the day - he really likes the olde English at the time of Arena.

Frankly, someone has to make an Oblivion mod where Uriel's wig flies off his head when he gets killed.

You're missing the important parts. He spent the several years of his life locked in a pocket realm. When he came out, it was like he had been on chemo.

He still had hair in Arena, albeit greying. He must've developed a speed impediment while in Oblivion though, because that lip sync is horrible.
