If citys turn into Kvatch It will be game breaking for me.

if they make them kvatch then i may just have to go destroy bethesda building and see whether they bother having fixed or just stand in the middle of a still burning coffee room

I really have my doubts about how this system is going to work. I doubt we'd actually see buildings getting damaged or set on fire, or anything that would leave a permanent mark.

I hope you have noticed that stuff doesn't tend to happen unless the PC is around. This means that dragons won't attack towns unless the PC is in the vicinity and even then i think they would have a preference for attacking the PC instead of the NPCs or the towns infrastructure. Some collateral damage would occur if you decide to fight the dragon in the town instead of leading it away. NPCs would flee indoors and into cellars where they cannot be reached as soon as they spot the dragon.

Anyone think that Dragons might end up wiping out towns or at least killing off some of its people? I remember that in one of the articles it was mentioned that Dragons could attack towns, so I'm worried that this might lead to NPCs getting killed; although there's radiant story, dead towns aren't much fun.

Also, since dragons can fly around, what chance do we have if we encounter a Dragon at a low level? Or are Dragons leveled?

I say dont go easy on me, as long as the town is still populated with NPC's with quests, then go ahead and give me some realism that adds to the imersion into skyrim, don't muck it up with the same old houses getting attacked everytime, lets see some random killing and destruction (and even attacks on the highways, camps, worksites an such, not over doing it but far between attacks on even you just walking the highway, and maybe over time the towns, camps, and worksites would rebuild and repopulate that would be quite impressive

I'd just thought about the part where towns' economies could get ruined. Perhaps Dragon Attacks could destroy a city's economy, by burning their crops or destroying their lumber mill for instance. These towns could then have set, repeatable quests which you can do to help them recover from the attack.

Also, if there are generic NPCs, perhaps they could die and respawn, but with a different look.

That would work perfectly if the game's economy was based on merchant NPCs, Farmer NPCs, and communication between the cities based purely off of NPC schedules. The merchants can't get food to sell without the farmers harvesting them and selling them off. The crops can then not be sold in other areas if they are stolen by bandits on the way. This would be an incredible achievement on Bethesda's behalf. I believe it is possible and we have the technology, but it would take a lot of work.

Your being a little closed minded, NPC's (dragons are NPCs also with an AI of there own from what todd said they can talk with the dragon language) are suppost to have a better radiant AI this time around which would mean that the dragons will be in the world doing what they please wether your there or not, its possible that the dragon can decide for its self what it wants to attack, i can see multiple preset attacks and damage on the same town and randomize attack points so that you dont see the same town destruction everytime, just apply this same method to other towns and bam you got a good base setting for dragon attacks in the game

Hopefully AI will run inside and let the gaurds take car of it and then you get a radiant story quest telling you to stop the dragon that is terrorizing the town and for the level thing maybe it will level out the dragon to your level or your screwed

I don't think so. It would be dynamic, but to have an empty town with respawning guards would be weak.

Maybe there will be a scripted town set to be destroyed, or perhaps half of the big city.

I have never liked scripted towns being destroyed.

Kvatch and Nipton are reasons I hate this.

Megaton like scripting is ok. But needs a good reason to be destroyed than "Ahhh...its an eyesore...."

Or maybe you"ll have to turn tail and hide until you have the skills and means to take out a dragon, that would be more of a challenge and also pushes you to level up and explore a little

I would only want destructible environments if there are also reconstructable environments.

THIS.

This gave me an idea. It would be nice if there were caravans traveling between the cities, maybe they'll get atacked by bandits on their way and you can help them for a reward, or maybe you ambush the caravan your self, that'd be epic :)
