And thus he finds the EM... only to find out that it adds to AC the same amount as *regular plate*. That's right, no -5 from the Ebony material applied.

It's not the same thing as the Ebony Blade showing 3-16 damage, its material surpasses any defences plus there's the cool vampiric effect.

But it has great enchantments, doesn't it? ... Resist Spell, Shield, and Fire Shield, right?

Yes, it does, I was just hoping for that -5 to kick in, as it is critical for melee oriented classes.

Also, I like to collect artifacts, so I was hoping that my first build ever to use Plate would add Ebony Mail and Auriel Shield to the list. As Phynaster Ring alone takes care of ALL spells, the rest I can pretty much handle by other means.

This said, I arrogantly TOSSED it away, in defiance to Boethiath, so she can give that puny trinklet to other, lesser fools.
