TES V Fans Crazier Than TES IV Fans?

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 2:20 am

ATM am rebuilding oblivion's bashed patch so I have a few minutes to contemplate some figures:
Skyrim forums: 299 users browsing (game is not released yet!)
Oblivion: 44 users only...

Why 300 people are gossiping about something that hasn't been createde yet instead of playing something ready? (Myself guilty as charged :D)

Is this what they call virtual existence?

Or maybe like Dani Glover I am too old for this ....?

Well people can either discuss something they've discussed a hundred times before. Or they can discuss something new for a change.

It's because most gamers like shooting the breeze.

It's easy to guess, speculate and draw attention to your self here.
It's a calling call to those that have something in common and like egging each other on, and aserting dominance over others opinions.

Oblivion is both more aged, has a strong dedicated fan base and topics have been discussed and worked over many times.
When I was on it, only a very few things were unknown about the game.
Of those only someone who is crazy enough to muck about in a eccentric fashion non stop would find.

Here little is known, no one has absolute answers and can speculate and wish as much as they like within the liberal forum guide lines.

However the last of these threads was locked as it has little to do the game, expect the same.

Perhaps there's a missing stat that's not connected to the web site, and the real numbers are more like this:

Skyrim forums: 299 users browsing (game is not released yet!)
Oblivion forums: 44 users only...
Offline actually playing Oblivion: 2634 users

Think about it. ;)

i'd agree they're crazier but more to the fact they seem to have more ridiculus wants than oblivion people.. a cat in your bag to reach high places is one that appeared recently :o

I wouldnt say they are crazier, just more of the crazies =p
The craziest of all are the long-term fans that have played just about every elder scrolls game. Even if it using DOS emulator, and the download from the site.

I know I'm more excited for Skyrim than I was buying Oblivion.

I was excited about Oblivion until I'd played it for a week. Then I was really really sad and disappointed. I'm excited about Skyrim. Hopefully I'm still excited about Skyrim a couple years from now.

The same reason why people like black holes; they can imagine it as wild as the want, and nobody can prove them wrong.

And everybody is waiting for new updates. I remember an old "Hubdate" thread that had 122+ people in it and reached the post limit in about 5 minutes.

I spend more time on these forums then playing the game.

Why is there a cat in the bag to begin with? Cats don't like bags (let alone being in one).
