Ayleid Revenge or (Standard Faction) Mods?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:15 pm

Hey guys - I've already gone manually through a bunch (I got 80+ mods installed on day 2 lol) and am filtering by keywords and endorsemants - but I realize I probably am missing some gems that just haven't had the same luck at getting attention (but which might still be great). Maybe someone can help?

Any anti-Knights Of The Nine mods? The backstory of that Paladin KotN is rather anti-Elven, plus you're basically a stereotypically "good" character serving the Nine.... and for a Daedra-dealing Dunmer it felt idiotic to see any Elves admire that bastard. Has anyone made any mods that let you spread pro-Elven riots and chaos, maybe cull humans to be replaced by Elven migrants, etc? (((The best I can do in Vanilla Oblivion is to do Knights of the Nine - discover the idiocy - and curse gear to reverse pitch-pocket and perma-sleep all those NPCs.)))

Any post-Leadership Faction mods? For example.....
  • Any (Hitman or Assassins Creed)-like Dark Brotherhood extensions? I loved the Dark Brotherhood - especially quests with requirements - and wonder if any modders have created more special killing quests. Doesn't matter if they're specific quest NPCs, or periodically and randomly generated targets in crowded areas. Would be nice to not be forced into retirement, even if the targets are generic or whatever (so long as the situation is challenging).
  • Any Arena mods? I keep seeing ones with minor changes (no leveling NPCs; more gold; etc) but am looking for major ones that make it feel more like a "faction" - maybe more quests, or more humanoid rivals, large fights, whatever. It gets old killing Minotaurs after a while and I keep hearing about awesome mods but I can't locate them.
  • Mages Guild? Specifically, here so that you have something to do after taking down the Necromancers - I'm surprised you can't try a coup de etat.

I always wished Oblivion had some randomly generated quests (like Daggerfall) to compliment to custom-tailored quests (so maybe you do special quests to advance in rank), but there's always a new assassination to make, a new thing to steal, etc to pass the time for the sport of it.

I'm also looking for new locations with quests - I'm researching the Unique Landscapes, Elseweyr and Morrowind mods - but I know some modders have made cities and such but perhaps just don't have the fame that older mods do. Conversely, I downloaded a city that had no AI (so it was basically dead). Trying to find good picks. :X

I played the hell out of Oblivion - now I want to Mod it so its fresh again. Help? <3

I highly recommend unique landscapes and Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina they are excellent additions to the gme world

1.For more DB quests the only one I know is A Brotherhood Renewed which I also recommend.
2.There is a mod that lets you join the necromancers its called mannimarco ressurection or something to that effect.
3.I think I may have seen a mod that adds random generic quests but i may be wrong I will look into it and get back to you.

XD Awesome! :) I'll keep looking as well, but I'm glad to know others know what kind of stuff I'm seeking. =)

You might want to check out Waalx's Arena overhaul http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/index.php. It's only an alpha and you got to register at the site to download it. And I haven't tried it myself yet. But Waalx only makes awesome mods so I'm quite sure it's excellent.

Ok found some mods that add random quests:
Bartholm and Thieves Arsenal Mission Zero: Odd Jobs

I haven't tried them myself just did a little search and came across this page which lists alot of great mods; check it out http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/bigquests.html

EDIT:
Just wanted to add some of my favorite quest mods :
The Ayleid Steps
Lost Sword of the Ayleids
Kvatch Rebuilt
and you might want to try C&C Blackwood Company if you want an alternative to the fighters guild

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6855- This plugin allows characters who have already completed the main questline to "redeem" themselves by joining the second wave efforts of the Mythic Dawn.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31773- As mentioned by br0sk1.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12732- restores the Bruma Guild hall. More of a fix than an extension, but still good.

For more DB quests the only one I know is A Brotherhood Renewed which I also recommend.

I just had the chance to look this one up as well - and you pegged it. This is why these forums are better than the Search functions.

Trying to search for "Dark Brotherhood" for All Files? No chance - it "only" has 142 Endorsemants, with it being uploaded this year.

Trying to search for "Dark Brotherhood" for "Guilds/Factions"? No chance - it was instead under Quests/Adventures (and this is part of the risk - having to guess which sub-category things are under.....).

You might want to check out Waalx's Arena overhaul http://waalx.com/RealSwordsForum/index.php. It's only an alpha and you got to register at the site to download it. And I haven't tried it myself yet. But Waalx only makes awesome mods so I'm quite sure it's excellent.

Omg, I think this is the Arena one I heard about (no wonder I couldn't locate it on TESNexus)!
And the animal one looks amazing (my main in WoW is a Hunter, so I love things to go after XD).

Anti-KotN:
Lastly, I'm curious on this - I'm beginning to doubt anyone built such a mod, but perhaps I could piece it together. I found a...
Priory of Meridia: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26636
Camoran's Home: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32772
Altmer Companions: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30502

I've seen mods to play as Necromancers (to rival Mages), and as Mercenaries (to rival Fighters). I don't mind putting some work into it if it doesn't exist... but yeah, anything that might work in this direction? =)

Very very promising. :)
