Streamline Failure?

I'm really not sure what I did wrong, or if I forgot something. I recently had to reinstall everything (Oblivion, mods, etc...). Before, Streamline worked perfectly - mainly using it for Streamsaves. I'm not sure if I'm just missing something, or if I was supposed to change something in an ini file (I initially used it how it came before I reinstalled everything), but basically it's not working. At all.

I have Streamline 3.1 Open Beta and Open Beta Patch installed to my Oblivion\Data directory.

Here is my load order, but I'm positive that doesn't have anything to do with it.

If anyone could help me out, I would be greatly appreciative. All I care about are those auto-saves every 10 minutes and after every fight. Really helps when I unexpected die, or something plain dumb happens (like those damn bears killing my quest NPC on the bear fang quest).

EDIT: Also, I've read the documentation over roughly 3 times, as well as done an advanced search on these forums for their advertised [WIPz] Streamline 3.1 topic, which apparently doesn't exist, or the concept of a search function eludes me.

Is the streamline ini in the correct folder?

Do you get the menu with crtl+home?

Do you use Conscribe? It would log the initialization process, so you could check to see if streamline initialized properly.

Could you post your sl.ini?

Yes, sl.ini is installed to my Oblivion\Data\Streamline\INI Files\ folder.

No, ctrl+home does not work.

Never heard of Conscribe.

^Should be default. I just reinstalled Streamline for the third time, still no luck. Really can't think of any logical answer as to why this isn't working.

As sort of a jump start you can open the console command ~ and type:
StartQuest SLini
this should force the streamline main quest to start.
Then try the crtl+home and reinitialize the ini. 'You can do this in the SL Main Menu by choosing the "Special Actions" button, and choosing the Re-Initialize option.'

you can check to see if streamline is running by opening the console command ~ and type:
sqv slfog
or
sqv SLsaveh
these commands print to console the quest variables in two of streamline's quests to see if there are valid values, not all 0's.

if the 'StartQuest SLini' doesn't work, try 'StartQuest SLini2'

Worked perfectly! I've no idea why it wasn't initializing automatically, but this seemed to fix it. Hope I don't have to do this every time I play, but as long as it gets it to work.

IIRC, this can happen if not doing a clean save when updating Streamline. Perhaps you had an earlier version of it in the save you tried?

Nope. It was a surprise to me as well. I had some bad installs in my last oblivion game (CTD every 2 minutes), so I uninstalled Oblivion and deleted every mod (I kept the .7z/.rar./.zip archives archived in a folder on my desktop). Also deleted the Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ directory so ensure I would start with a clean Oblivion.ini.

Reinstalled OblivionGOTY via steam along with OBSE, then proceeded to rebuild my collection. Streamline was one of the first things I installed, since my game is so heavily modded(imo).

Didn't even realize it wasn't running until I had a mishap with a Fallen Shaman and had to restart the whole dungeon.

So you started a new game as well? Then it was caused by something else. But, I mean, even a complete reinstall wouldn't help if you end up loading a save which used an earlier Streamline release.

Yes I started a new game, since I completely wiped out all my old saves. :\

I guessed so. It's a weird issue which seems to pop up now and then - would be nice to figure out what causes it. But it can be fixed via the console so no biggie I guess.
