Not much REAL Customization?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:08 pm

So, I may be wrong here, but the only clothes you can get are from Archetypes. From my understanding there are about twenty or so Archetypes. Hmm... 200 Gazillion unique styles? Are we going to be seeing ALOT of the same clothes in different tints or what's up? Do you unlock clothes as you progress that don't belong to an archetype? That would make sense.

Well.. Beards doesn't belong to one archetype..

But yeah, we'll see alot of the same clothes but with different colours/textures

You unlock new clothing/beards as you level up

There are almost 100-and-a-half Quadrillion total ways to customize your character's looks.

That's 100,500,000,000,000,000. Look at that number and all the zeros and you tell me if that's enough customization.

They came up with those http://kotaku.com/#!5799286/the-insane-numbers-of-brink by accounting for every single possible variable and then multiplying, I wouldn't put to much stock in it. My guess is that there will be people who look similar, it will be rare to see 2 people who look the same though.

''hey that guy looks just like me.. wait nevermind he got the blue-green tint on his pants while I got the dark-blue one''

YEEEAAAAH

EDIT: You should expect alot of the same clothing in the future however, I mean.. There are some that are more visually appealing to the masses, I can see: The Anger Bandana, The Anger Shirt, The Eel Vest, The Eel Mask, The Bug Mask and The Lost Jacket being over-used if I can say that

.. I will use some of those :>

Oh, I know I'm aware of that. But what I mean is how many will actually be UNIQUE styles and not just the same thing with altered colors or textures?

Unique Security Characters (not counting minor tint variations but including body types):13,590,720
Unique Resistance Characters (not counting minor tint variations but including body types):13,590,720

Did the math, 27,181,440 total unique characters, not counting altered colors.

That's still a LOT of possibilites.

I think there are clothing pieces that aren't tied to any archetypes as well. Then there is DLC pumping in fresh new interesting archetypes. I thought OP was talking about how we can't customize the faces like nose angle or eye width.

What I'd like to know, something which seems to be totally missed out in all stats, is just simply how many articles of clothing there are?

I'm sure theres some way of doing the maths.... and a nice shiny turtle up for anyone who can ;)

Even if you don't count color and body type, there are still a little over 9 million possible combinations. You may see someone that looks similar, but you'll be more unique than you would be in almost any shooter out there. Just have fun with it people; the game will hopefully be good enough to stand on its own just from gameplay alone.

Theres like 20 pants and 20 shirts (not real numbers. Estimations) that you can mix and match and change the color of. Then the scars, tats, hair, skin, voice, undershirts, etc that you can change.
