[Beta] Midas Magic - Spells of Aurum Thread #27

That's very weird. Midas Magic shouldn't touch that at all. Are you sure you don't have something else going on here?

Yep positive, all I did was use the Midas cheat and my magicka went rocketing, it's not the first time, when I was testing the cheat to see if it actually worked it done it then (that was near the start of my game), only remembered about that when it done it again this time, seriously all I did was the Midas cheat and that it

I've got another idea. :) Banish the tiger --> tigerref.moveto hawkhaven or somewhere. And let it dwell there for the rest of its life.

Ahh I've already done my clean install but I could always go back....the fact that it CTDs when it dies doesn't that mean there's an error in my script or something like that?

OK, with cheats I guess all bets are off.

Have you tried http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11368? It's also included in the UOP if using it: console > startquest uop

Still no joy, used the UOP it says it's fixing the magicka stat but there's no change, I don't think it's actually broken I've just been given a mad amount of points 14,000 to be exact, so a fix I don't think will really work it just needs reducing some how but so far it don't seem like there's a way to do that :(

That's why I never use cheats, I am too afraid something's gonna get messed up. I might tcl to get out of a stuck place or something like that, but that's about it.

There is a Midas cheat? Not built into Midas, huh? I mean, you actually have to use a console cheat to activate it, or is it like an exploit?

If it's something you just activated to test the spells out, I'd just reload from a previous save before you activated the cheat. And I mean clean load, as in; exit Oblivion, then load the save you are going to use, then delete the save(s) where you had started to use the cheat. It's not worth having your char stats permanently screwed up just to try and save a tiny bit of progress.

EDIT - Sorry, just read further back about how your save got messed up... sheesh. I don't know what to tell you, except try to find a save point that still works correctly so you can at least save your character! Good Luck!

Noo noo it's not that I cheated because I wanted to, the Great White Tiger summon somehow corrupted and every time it was killed I got a CTD even using the unsummon or disableing it via the console it still CTD so i had to do a clean install of Midas and that caused me to lose all the spells I had manage to get, that's why I used the cheat...I've got a save I can go back to where my magicka points are fine but if I do that I would still have the Tiger problem so it's kind of a catch twenty-two, ether way I'm still gonna end up on the losing side :(

Hey Xilver, remember how I told you that the Wabbabeam created two copies of the Astral Atronach waaaaay back?

Well, now if you cast Wabbabeam on an Astral Atronach, it stays there....but the wabba'd creature appears as well. Combined with the Atronach's insane aggressiveness to everything that isn't from the Astral Realm, this leads to easy low-level powering through to Devil's Tower. And if the Wabbabeast doesn't die, then when the spell runs out the Atronach teleports to its location.

...Frankly, though, you might want to keep this, as making the most annoying and least entertaining atronachs ever attack and kill themselves is just the kind of thing you'd expect from Sheogorath. Besides, the Wabba'd creatures disappear when the Atronach dies, so you did get that bug, at least.
