The Founder

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:55 pm

I have stalked this game and eaten all information i can find, but one thing haunts me. The founder, does he exist, is he like the commander of the security? Is he Dead? Was he on the mainland when the flood came? Does the security only protect the founders vision for rations of water and food? Or is this all unknown, and to be discovered in the storyline?

Thanks, Radway

There is no one Founder.

The Founders are a group - the original five thousand people who made the Ark. Anymore information is plot-essential, and will not become apparent until we finish one or both of the campaigns.

I believe the hostage the resistance has on the aquarium level is one of the founders, and also the woman who narrates the intro movie / the training videos is one too.

So yeah, I'm guessing the founders are still around and they're being defended by the Security.

I think he was on the board or something. Not an actual founder.

I am pretty sure that the founders were the ones who funded the Ark's creation, and are the ones who pay the Security to keep the peace (via violence).

The founders are also the ones who cut off communication with the mainlands. Either that or they are trying to get communication with the mainlands I don't really know.

FounderS

They're the people who invested in the project. I think they are the real antagonist.

If they didn't create the last place where mankind could live, none of this would happen, no war, no security, no resistance!

Now this is were I think about Human nature and war... but actually the wars started cause of the refugees overcrowding the Ark. The resources going down and the Resistance starting up, so the Security had to be started up in response.

I mean in the present day of Brink. They're the bad guys now, and some of them must've just invested to save their own skin and turn a profit. That's what they're doing now, profiteering off of the war between the Resistance and Security.

How can one profit when there is nothing to profit from? The water rations that doesn't need to be handed out due to dead guests and security-personnel will more likely be stored up and handed out in the future so everyone who is alive gets more water in the long-run, which in the longer run ensures survival

I really don't think they're the bad guys, they just seem to be the bad guys through a Resistance perspective, no?

Well the refugees must be angry about something. They wouldn't have gone up in arms if they were being treated fairly. They do the work, but they are the ones that have to put up with poor living conditions, disease, and rationing. Do you think the Founders have to do that? The Resistance put everything on the line when they go into war. If they win, then there'll be fair distribution for all until everything can be sustained (or that's what I thought the plan was. Apparently, the goal is to "escape the Ark. Why the Founders and Security don't let them leave is something we'll have to find out from playing) If they lose, then they risk punishment for all the refugees. Work will be longer and harder, and rations will be less, and inequality will continue.

If they leave now everything will go to [censored], becuase now they have made it be able to work somewhat for the 50.000 people that are there, if the majority of the workers leave, the Ark is lost, and if their mission to find land is a failure, then whoop-ass mankind just got extinct

And it is unknown wether the Founders actually are stocking up on water, but really, I think not

Plus the loss of resources that went into the civil war, will cause a terrible outcome later on.

At the end of the Resistance Campaign game you climb the ominous tower.

When you reach the top you are led into a room where you discover Richard Ham, Paul Wedgwood, Olivier Leonardi, Edward Stern, Arron Hoffman, Fabrice Bouver, Chris Sweetman and Neil Alphonso have preserved their lives over the years in stasis chambers, which are all hooked up to to computers, creating the ultimate LAN party; An immortal 4 VS 4 game of Brink.

As your character watches an exact replica of himself on the big screen play out the previous engagements up to this pint, he questions which of the founders has control over him.

He looks to Oliver's "chamber" and sees some graffiti...
